I heard of another theory according to which, a reaction can precede the cause that triggered it. In layman's terms, that would mean a window broke because A threw a rock, but it broke even before A had the chance to throw the rock, still A was the one who broke the window.
Yup, and about the paradoxes it creates. I found about a stupid paradox a brainless scientist had theorized about. The predestination paradox, where one travels to the past and impregnates one of his ancestors, practically leading to his own creation in the end. So one would become one's ancestor so to speak.
But such a theory hardly stands up. If by absurd one were to be his own ancestor, he'd have to be repeating the same events over and over again, in an infinite loop, ever since the beginning of the Universe, which is impossible. Plus, he'd have to be in the past, to start this loop, so he'd have to be there even before he was born, which is again impossible.
Furthermore, should his DNA mix with his ancestors' DNA, the end result after generations would not be him, but a completely different individual, thus he'd practically erase himself from history by doing that.
