Doubt I'll ever understand him, so I'd rather play with everyone else really :P

I fluctuate between Soldier and Engineer. The one I don't get at all, however, is Spy. Whoever plays Spy and is good at it, I envy you.

Well that's only dreaming, since I feel as there is nothing as hard to change as education. Once you have one system fully implemented it is hard to change it, as change is for most people, sadly, scary.

I know it is and good that pulls you towards the country. Of course you should not see it too idealistic, since then you are setting yourself up for disappointment but I wholeheartedly believe that it most be better over there than in the US right now. I have heard your government shut down, how does that affect the "normal" American?

Well then I need you to explain what you mean by Low-Key in your previous message, since you said and I quote: "Low-key want to be a farmer once I've done work for some years." What does Low-key mean in this sentence?

Yeah luckily here we do not have two sided politics. We are still blessed with a system in which there is more to chose, but only since we do not have a full first-past-the-post system. Also glad to hear Achilles and Patroclus were homosexual, since then I did not translate the Greek text wrong xD.

With vacation I mean I just relaxed. I met with friends and did not do so much work. Right now I am more busy since university has started again and exams are coming up. What kind of fan fiction story were you working on? And what work are you putting off? :P

That's horrible. One of the things the education system should do is prepare you for what is to come. I hope you are coping with university better, and hopefully your country will change the system in the future for the better. One of the downsides to the US system is that everyone has to go with the flow while there is a huge range of student capabilities, resulting in a "flow" that is too fast for slower students and too slow for brighter students.

I agree that Norway is a beautiful country and I also really like the language. It sounds close to home since it is still a Germanic language, yet so far away. You also like the social policies they have over there better, and is that also a motivator for you to move? Finally, you call yourself Low-key right; is there a story behind that?

Well in Norway you could also do your work in English. From my experience all Germanic countries, like Norway and the Netherlands, are relatively well trained in English, partially due to the fact that English is part of the Germanic family (although English got quite corrupted by French). I also feel sorry for you that historians over there are so biased. I feel as though here they are more neutral, but I am not that much into history that I can confirm it with certainty. It did have to read some classical Greek and Latin which dealt with race and homosexuality. I will always remember the Latin text in which Germanic people were called "raw", and African people were called "burnt", or the Greek text in which Achilles (I believe) indirectly proclaimed his love his old mentor.

Glad to see you are back. I have been fine. Just started studying again, vacation did me good and now I am motivated to continue my studies again. What about you?

Yeah it is pretty weird compared to most of the world. Of course your system has it's benefits but in general I would find the Dutch system better, since socially it also worked out nicely for me. You see, I was kinda a nerd in primary school, and going to a secondary school with only "nerds" made me fit in and fixed my social anxieties. But of course one of the big downsides our system has, is that some children are late bloomers that get send to a "low" secondary school while they could have gone higher. It is possible to move "up" the ladder but it's difficult. I feel as though the US system gives students more time to raise in the rankings. Wrongly placing students also happend to a friend of mine: he started out in VMBO, then moved up to HAVO, now is attending HBO (a adult type of education - learning a specialized job) and next wants to pursue a university career. It would have been better if they placed him right after primary school.

I am curious how it goes over there and which system you would prefer.

Norway is a beautiful country and I can seen why you would like to move, though I am interested in what pulls you so much to Norway. Why not another Scandinavian country or even another Germanic country?

Well if you ever need help with something don't be afraid to send me a VM or a PM, I would be glad to help you if needed. There are lots of math teachers that care but the subject ís very difficult to grasp, and really requires your brainpower. The beauty of maths for me is that maths is the only topic that can be regarded as "objectively true". Your job prospects also sound interesting, but then I'm interested if you wanna do your job outside the US, but for US students, or if you wanna become a historian/writer for Norwegian students? Also, in which way would you describe American historians as biased?

Glad to hear from you again. I was starting to miss you, but don't worry. I understand that you cannot always respond quickly!~

It does not matter that you do not know, since I logical you are only accustomed to the education you went through, but I'll explain what Dutch education is like in general, but since it's quite different from the US (and non-linear), I'll simplify a bit.

All Dutch students start in primary school, and run through eight years of it before the make a big final test. On the basis of that test and teacher's assessment students are then sorted into one of three broad levels of secondary education, namely VWO, HAVO, or VMBO. I went to VWO which stands for voorbereidend wentenschappelijk onderwijs (preparatory scientific education), takes 6 years to complete and is the only branch of secondary education that leads to university. VMBO, in contrast, prepares you for learning a certain craft (baker, nurse etc.), while HAVO trains you to ensue more specialized/theoretical professions (musician, engineer etc.). Then for me finally came university and that works quite like your system of bachelor/master etc. I hope it is a bit clear xD

From your response I almost see resentment to your own country. Do you like living in the US or do you wanna move somewhere else in the future? I cannot be that the USA is all bad right, they have made some progression into becoming more accepting toward homosexuality in recent years right?

Too bad you do not have a story but still just liking the subject is enough to pursue it right. I hope you'll enjoy those programs to the fullest. Well I wanted to teach because I have long been wanting to help people with their studies of mathematics and I really like making students understand a difficult subject, so it's only natural I fell for becoming an academic teacher! What actual work would you like to do as a historian?

That is pretty interesting. But do you then associate with one gender most of the time or does is really quite randomly vary from time to time?

Well here in the Netherlands learning an instrument mostly goes hand in hand with playing in a group, as music lessons are mostly given by a culture association. Thus, after a year or two of music studies you are invited to play in a group. And if you do that for a long time and can play adequately, you are invited for more and more group and get into the position I am in right now.

As for your art it is obviously much better than I would be able to produce by a long shot. So I think you are pretty talented, but some of your adult images were interestingly weird to me. What is the meaning of the dark and somewhat disturbing non-sexual imagery I saw? What was your intention for making that?

But then for me the question still remains if you are learning about the science of language or if you are learning Korean, Russian, and French in specific? Also, what drove you to pursue this career? Mathematics is really fun! You can do a lot with mathematics, but I will probably pursue an educational career. Teaching mathematics secondary schools or higher education. But not that this is not a normal mathematical career, since most people go work as mathematicians at technical companies.

Then I understand your position a little bit. With "classical man" I meant a guy that complies with all stereotypes of a man hahaha. Good to know you are fluid, how does it feel to be fluid actually since I have never met someone that identifies as fluid before. Does that mean that you do not feel fit in any of the gender stereotypes or is it something else all together?

Well glad you wanna hear more. Right now during Christmas my orchestra is playing songs that comply with the season and my favorite right now to play is "this is halloween" from the Christmas film "the nightmare before Christmas". A good impression of the arrangement we are using can be found here. I am interested in the kind of art and animation you make. For how long have you been doing it and do you have any examples?

Sounds like some cool subject to be learning. Language as in language in general or the English language? Are these studies difficult or do you find them relatively easy right now. Also, are these two fields you combine in your studies or is it one field of study over there? As for me, I am studying mathematics. Sounds a lot less interesting I know but I like it!

Also, merry Christmas to you buddy!
