Nightmares? Why would he have nightmares. Blake was confused as to why James would ask him such an unusual question. But then he remembered what happened last night. The scar, the story behind it, him losing it in front of another guy. Perhaps there was something to be said about horror stories after all.

"No... nothing like that. And sure, I'd go for a bite to eat."

James nodded. "Anything specific?"

"No, anything will be fine, I don't mean to trouble you any further" Blake replied, trying not to look at his manly physique, and that firm and pronounced musculature, twitching at every move he made. "Can I help?"

James shook his head, and made the man some toast. He buttered it, and handed it to him. He sat down next to him.

Blake started munching the toast, painfully aware of how close he was sitting to James. So close he could hear him breathing in and out. The way his lungs would fill with air, then expel it, sounded so manly, so seductive. He could barely resist the urge to slip his hand down James's briefs and caress that monster of his.
All those perverted thoughts rushing through his mind at such a bad time. He should be feeling sorry for the poor man, and showing kindness, compassion and understanding towards him, instead of standing there, breeding up erotic dream scenarios.
He was ashamed to admit it but he'd have loved to be taken by James, right there on the floor, or on the counter. And he was sure James wouldn't have been against the idea. But he also understood that James was hurting, after what his lover had done to him. "So... Anything you want to do today?" James asked.

"What..." Blake shook his head, snapping out of his daydream. "Today... I... I have to go to work. And you have work as well, I'm sure. So..."
He put the remaining piece of bread back on his plate, staring at his knees. Was James actually going to ask him out a second time after what happened last night? Hadn't one horror show been enough for him?
"Um... James, I... I know this is probably going to upset you but I just, I..." He clenched his fist tight. "I can't be with you right now..."

James sighed. "Ok... I'm sorry... I... I Didn't mean to..."

"I really want to, please believe me, it's just that I'm not ready for a relationship... and as presumptuous you may think I am, for saying this, I truly believe you aren't prepared either..."
Blake looked away, not wanting to see the expression on James's face. He'd never been in love before, but even he could imagine what a painful experience it must be to be turned down by someone.
“I’m so sorry” He mumbled, feeling like a jackass. “I just think we should take it slow, and not do anything we might live to regret…”

James sighed, and stood up. "Ok, if that's how you feel."
