David sighed and sat back heavily. "Fine," he said,looking away from him.

Hawthorne nodded, and loosened David's ropes. "There. That's purely because you're your father's son."

David rolled his eyes. "You're better fitted to a maids quarters than the sea," he muttered.

"Yeah, I know, I'm a big soft lass... If I like you, that is."

"Oh? And why do you like me?"

"There are two types of men in this world: Ones who would backstab you, and ones who see it isn't honorable. You're the latter."

David smirked. There was a flaw in his logic. "Ironic, coming from one who is the preceeding," he muttered.

Hawthorne shrugged. "Perhaps. However, I'm not exactly on the best terms with myself."

David raised an eyebrow, then shook his head.

Hawthorne finished untying David, and sat down next to him. "Listen... I really didn't want to do this, but I have to."
