David shook his head. "Is this a jest?!" He stood and went towards the window. "This is nothing but revenge for you acting a blind maid."
"You don't understand. I loved your father, and he broke my heart. So, I must have payback."
David laughed and turned towards him. "I understand perfectly," he said. "My father has always been a seaman. Staying in one harbor and heart was never his style. But you, a puppy-bitch, actually thought he would prefer to stay with than leaving with his Rose and when he did leave you had a hell's fit. Now you want to punish him for being the man he is. I see why he left a fishwife like you." He turned back towards the window and clinched his fists.
"Well, what was I supposed to do? I loved him, remember. He was my first."
"MOVE ON! For God's sake you're a pirate! To be swooning over another man is...oh you aren't worth time nor shiproom."
Hawthorne cocked his eyebrow. "You realise if I moved on, I would have no use for you, correct?"
David turned to face him, his face set in a cold stare. "I would rather be dead than a tool against my crew."
"Trust me. You wouldn't. The ways I could kill you..."
David's stare didn't change. Yes he was scared and it was in his eyes. But his crew was his world and he wasn't going to betray them in anyway.
Meanwhile, on the Rose, Elias raised his head to look at the door of his cell, which was being opened by Montagne.
