"Please, I can't talk about this right now, I have to go to work" Blake replied.

James nodded. "Ok... I'll call you later, ok?"

"Yeah, sure, okay" James mumbled, gathering his clothes in a hurry. "Can I use your bathroom, to get dressed?"

James shrugged. "If you want."

"Thanks" Blake replied, and rushed to the bathroom, closing the door behind him, and locking it. They were both confused, and had absolutely no idea what they wanted. He had to get out of there and go to work.

James sat down on the sofa. Maybe showing him the scar was a bad idea, he thought.

Blake did his best to hurry up with the washing and dressing up. There wasn't enough time for thinking things through. He had a restaurant to run, and that didn't give him much time to have a personal life. And now, all of a sudden, this man drops by, turning his entire world up side down...
After he was done, he went straight to the door, put on his shoes, then took his coat. James was nowhere in sight.
"I'm heading off now, I'll see you soon" Blake said, and went on his way.

James sat on his bed, his head in his hands. He was crying. Why did every relationship he tried to have end badly?

"...well, Mel, there's a marvelous new invention called a cell phone. It just so happens that I have one, and I also have a phone number, which, if my memory still serves me well, I gave to you a long time ago!" Blake said to his business partner, who was at the other end of the line.
"Chill, dude. How was I supposed to know you were sleeping over at someone else's place last night?" Mel said in his defense.
The guy had called his place and the restaurant like crazy, trying to get in touch with him.
"It's okay, I'm sorry. I just have a lot on my mind lately. Anyway, you can still take a few more days off, til you're feeling better. Gotta go now, cause I just heard customers coming in. Take care."
Blake hung up, and rushed to the dining area. A couple of customers had just arrived, and were now sitting down at a table near the counter.
"So it begins" he mumbled, then put up a professional smile, and went up to their table to greet them.

James decided to abandon hope, and get up and resume his daily schedule. He showered, then pulled on his clothes, then drove off to work.
