(Hey, I'd appreciate it if you tried doing the RP with more than one-liners, because you give me so little to work on. It'd be nice if you describe your character's interactions in a more detailed manner so that we can keep this interesting. Thanks :) )
The rest of the day was a blur for Adriel. He did not avoid Lloyd, but he did not purposefully initiate conversation with the man either. Today's flow of customers was steady, and he sold a good portion of their stock. Lloyd must have had been overwhelmed with the cash flow, because he had returned change of ten pence when it was ten dollars so many times. Adriel had stepped in to give the poor man a break. How was he going to deal with the situation later if it turned ugly. Soon, it was dinnertime, and with the sun setting, the vampires would start to come out. Of course, Adriel had discovered for himself that he never did burn in sunlight: vampires were traditionalists, and most of them insisted by working only by moonshine, and none of them believed that moonlight was essentially sunlight. As the dinner crowd rushed in he was moving back and forth between the kitchen and the till, juggling tasks like he always did with speed a precision that people usually couldn't comprehend. He spotted Lloyd sitting at the back, and when he was free for a bit he popped by, concerned about the young man. "Are you hungry?" Before letting him reply, Adriel gave a sigh. "You should probably go home to get your silver and wooden bolts. Things could get ugly." He gave a weary glance to Lloyd. "You do have weapons, and you do know how to fight, right?" |
Lloyd nodded, checking his nails. "I've never killed a vampire before, though. Pretty shit hunter, I know."
He hugged, Adriel, and left. He got in his car, and drove back to his apartment. He picked up his weapons and ammunition, and took stock. He loaded up the shotgun, revolver and crossbow, and went back to Adriel. "Ready?" |
Adriel was still tending to customers when Lloyd waltzed into the store, armed with a shotgun, revolved and crossbow. He immediately seized up in stiffness at the awkward situation, running at blinding speed as he carried Lloyd into the storeroom, locking the man inside and returning to the customer in the blink of an eye. "Sorry, my brain paused for a moment there," he laughed sheepishly, trying to make up for his lag in replying the customer's queries. After they left, he went back to the storeroom and opened it back up.
"Lloyd! There are still customers here! You want people to see you with... a shotgun?!" Adriel stared at the heavy weapon. "You must be very rich to afford silver rounds that fit the shotgun," he mused. staring nervously at the weapons. He could almost feel his skin tingle in anticipation of the burn that silver would have on his skin. How would Lloyd handle all that fracas should things turn ugly? "And I'll be ready soon enough. The store closes at eleven, and it's ten fifty. I'll start cleaning up, then we can get there." |
"Sorry." Lloyd replied. "Although, to be honest, what did you expect me to do? You did tell me to get right back to you, after all..." He shook his head. "I'm sorry... I'll wait for you." He replied, sitting down on a crate.
|
"It's fine..." Adriel softened his tone. The evening was a blur, but he chose to close up early. He stuck a notice outside his door, apologising for unforseen circumstances that lead him to the early closure. Holding Lloyd's hand he breathed in the panicky scent of the hunter, hearing the hum of silver as it threatened to sting his skin. "Are you ready?" Adriel asked, kissing Lloyd's ear gently. He didn't know what they would face in there, or how the matter would be resolved.
(Sorry for the really late reply. I'm in a situation where I can't use the internet except for weekends, so I might take very long to update D:) |
"I'm ready if you are." Lloyd replied, giving his hand a reassuring squeeze. "If we do... if one of us does... I just want you to know I love you."
