One part of him told him that he shouldn't follow him, but on the other hand. He needed to learn to get along wit him. So he took a deep breath and nodded his head. "Alright. But not to far from the restaurant, it's still my first day. I need to make a good impression." he told him in a serious tone. Hoping that this wouldn't make his lover angry.
Lou smiles, "I'm fine with that. There's a burger joint down the street or a small cafe. Which one do you want to go to?" He asks happily, putting his hands in his pockets.
"Um...I'm hungry for some fries. So let's go to the burger joint." he said with a shy, timid smile on his face.
Lou smiles more, "Burgers it is." He says, taking Kobi's hand and taking him to the burger joint. When they place their orders, Lou simply gets a burger and a drink for himself.
He stumbled a little when he took his hand and starts walking. For he wasn't expecting that. Lou could feel that his hand was a little clammy. Once they were at the fast food joint. He places his order. A double cheese burger and large size of fries. With a large coke. So he could stay awake for work.
Lou pays for it all and they get a seat by the window. Lou smiles a little and says, "How are you enjoying your first day here so far?"
When they sat down. He looks out of the window and smiles. Until he was asked about his day working at the restaurant. He shyly smiles. "It's going pretty well. I'm just glad that I haven't screwed up like I did at the first Rhythm. I wonder if Tim would be proud of me if I got the whole day with out one miss up?" he thought out loud. Looking real happy about that idea.
Lou chuckles, "I bet even if you did mess up, Tim would still be happy to be with you hm?" He raises an eyebrow while saying that, then takes a sip of his drink, "Or at least that would be what he wants you to think."
His body tensed up and looked at him with a confused expression on his face. "What do you mean by that?" he asked. Sounding a bit worried.
He looks at him with his eyebrow raised again, "Ah, sorry, I was thinking aloud is all. You of course know how me and Tim broke up..... right?"
Actually...he never did. "Well...Tim said that you were a one night stand and you been bothering him since." he told him.
Lou snorts a little, "That's just like him." He starts eating, staring at his food instead of Kobi.
Those butterflies from before were gone. But now he just felt sick to the pit of his stomach. "Then...how did you break up?" he asked. For he was now curious.
Lou sighs a little, "We were dating for nearly three months. Before he broke up with me, he wouldn't shut up about some waiter in his restaurant who was always so clumsy. Then he told me he couldn't see me anymore because he didn't think we were right as a couple, and a few days after, I find out he's with you."
He lightly blush for he was the reason that he was dumped by Tim. "But I don't get it. Shouldn't you hate me instead of Tim?" he asked. "I mean I was the reason that you two are no longer together."
He smiles, "Don't get me wrong. I hated you at first. But after meeting you for the first time, even if I was a bit of an ass to you, I realized, you probably didn't even know Tim and I were dating, and so it wasn't your fault at all. You probably didn't even mean to seduce Tim in the first place, so I blamed it all on him instead. "
"First off, I did not seduce Tim." He told him in a serious tone. "But you are right. I didn't know that he was dating you. Actually I didn't know him outside of work. I liked him as a friend. For he had my back when I did mess things up. Telling me how to do it right and covers for me when our boss was after my head. I thought of him as a mentor. I know thought thought that he liked me the way he does now. When I heard that he was moving away to here. I felt so sad. I didn't even know why. But I pretend that everything was okay until the day finally came." he explained to him. Looking out of the window. "Please don't tell anyone this, not even Tim. But I came from a very broken home. My mom and dad always yelled at each other, my older brother was never around. Both my parents work at under paid jobs were never around to. But when they were at home. They were always in a drunken state of sleep. So I had to learn everything by myself and do all the house work. I never had time to make friends. I used to cry a lot, but then I end up in cuts and bruises by my family. All of them told me the same thing. I was worthless and will never be anything to anyone. That's why I never thought that someone like Tim would like let alone love a useless person like me." he told him.
Lou seems a little shocked by all this, and he smiles softly. "You know, there can always be more people who love you. You might not just know. As for me, I think you're adorable and really sweet." He takes a sip of his soda, "I won't tell Tim. I promise."
He smiled and lightly chuckled. "Maybe, but I don't know why. I'm so plain, even watching the paint dry is more exciting then me." he said and took a bite out of his burger. "Thanks, for keeping your promise as to not telling Tim this." he said with a warm friendly smile. "You really don't seem like a bad person." he said in a friendly tone. "I hope you andI could work well together."
He smiles, "As long as you can stand 'accidental' touching, I'm pretty sure we'll get along fine." He chuckles, eating the rest of his food. It was hard to understand if he was joking or not.
Kobi was a little worried when he said that, but nervously smiled. Finishing his drink in food within a couple of minutes.
Soon after, Lou decided they should go back so they won't be late. "We don't want the bossman catching us right?" He chuckled out jokingly, clocking in.
He throw away his wrapped and followed him back to the restaurant. Going into the break room. "Yeah, don't want to be late." he said. Clocking soon after Lou. As the day went on. He continued to wait tables and things were going great. Until someone stretched their legs out. Making him trip. Falling to the ground and send a bowl of soup flying onto a customer.
The customer let out a cry of shock when the soup poured all over them, the bowl conveniently missing, passing by just the top of their head. Lou quickly walked over, assessing the situation and apologizing to the poor customer, promising them a free meal and a coupon. When he got another waiter to help the customer clean off a little, he went straight to Kobi, picking him up a little roughly by the arm and dragging him to the break room. When he put Kobi in, he whispered, "Stay in here until I come and get you. Don't come out." Then he turned and went back into the dining area, closing the door behind him.
He yelped when he was grabbed roughly by Lou. He didn't fight with him, mostly because he was still a little stunned as to what happened to him. He looked over his shoulder and looked at the mes that he had made. He couldn't believe that he messed up. When told to stay in the break room until he came back. He flinched as he closed the door. A part of him felt like a little kid who was send to their room. He sat down on a chair and sadly sighed. Looking at his feet depressed. "I can't believe that happened. I was trying so hard and that happens. And my first day to. What would Tim think of this?" he thought and felt more upset.
Almost as if on que, faintly through the door, he can hear Tim asking Lou what had happened. Lou sighed a little, "I know you're going to be disappointed about this but... I wasn't watching where I was going and I stumbled over a customer's legs and ended up getting soup all over that lady. I apologized and made her meal free, though, so it's already taken care of, right?" Tim sighed angrily, "I didn't know you'd screw up like this.... Mostly this badly Lou.... I'm going to have to make you work overtime then, so you can make up the money you lost." Lou agreed to it, "I'm sorry, sir."
Right after Lou said he was sorry. He opens the door and looks at the two of them. "Tim! Don't be mad at Lou!" he said. Standing in front of him. "It wasn't his fault. It was my." he told him. "I wasn't looking and tripped over something. I was the one who let go of the soup and send it flying." he said. Looking down at the ground. "I will work overtime to make up for the money we lost because of my stupid clumsiness." he told him in a serious but sad voice. He couldn't even look at him in the eyes. He also couldn't let Lou take the blame for his mistake. It wouldn't be right.
Lou was shocked and he shook his head, "That's not true!" Tim frowns in confusion and sighs, "This is strange... usually you would fight over who DIDN'T do it...." He rubs his forehead, "I don't believe you, Kobi. Where were you just now? The break room? You must've been in the bathroom then, meaning you most likely weren't there when Lou messed up. Why would you cover for him though?" He asked, raising an eyebrow. Lou clears his throat, "I AM training him.... he probably doesn't want to lose a teacher...."
He shook his head. "I was out there. I was pulled into the break room by Lou because he didn't want me to get into trouble. Besides think about it. A soup bowl goes flying in mid air, landing on a customer. Doesn't that sound like something that mostly happens when I am around?" he asked. Looking at him. "Tim. I know when to admit a mistake. I made one and I am truly, truly sorry. Please forgive me."
Tim frowns a little, "That definitely sounds like you did it...." He sighs a little, "In my office, Kobi. Wait for me there while I help clean this up. Lou, get the coupon for the woman." Lou nodded and hurried off, looking a little upset.
Kobi only nodded his head and went into Tim's office. Closing the door behind him and sat on one of the chairs that were placed there in case he was talking to someone. He felt so bad for what he had done. He wanted to make him proud and get praised. But he only made him angry. "I wouldn't blame him if he fired me. I...I don't blame him...if he wanted to brake up with me." he thought sadly to himself. Wrapping his arms around his stomach. It's been a long time since he felt this upset.
After an agonizing half hour, Tim finally walks in. " Kobi.... are you okay? You look a liitle pale." Tim kisses his forehead. "It's okay, you won't be in trouble. Lou agreed to take responsibility. We cannot have Ezekiel regret sending you here, so we're going to pretend like it didn't happen." He smiles.
He tensed up when he heard the door open. Looking up at Tim, who didn't seem all that mad from before. He loosen up a little when he kissed him on the forehead. "I-I'm fine. Don't worry about me." he said with a smile on his face. Hearing that Lou was going to take the fall for him. He couldn't help but to feel guilty. "But it was my fault." he said. "It's very nice of Lou to do it, but I don't feel right about it." he said. Sighing sadly. "I am so sorry for messing things up, again," he said in a sad tone. "I was trying so hard to make you proud."
He laughs a little, "You always make me proud. You're amazing enough to slip up once in a while." He kisses him, " And Lou is taking the fall because we can't let Ezekiel know. So it is our secret okay?" He smiles
Kobi feels a little better when he kisses him again. "Okay. But I should take some of the blame. I can still work overtime to cover up the loss." he told him.
He smiles and says, "I'm sure Lou will be able to manage. Go back to work now, okay? And be careful where you walk." he hugs him
He nods his head and hugs him back. Then goes back to work.
When he goes out there, he sees Lou waiting the tables Kobi is supposed to be on, doing double the work even now.
When he saw Lou doing his tables, he felt so guilty. It was all his fault he was going to take the fall for his mistake. But for now. He but a smile on his face and went back to waiting tables. Through the afternoon and evening. Nothing to bad went off. He stumbled here and there and mixed a few orders, but they were all pretty minor from the soup bowl earlier. The hours went by and soon it was time to clock out. He was a bit tired and punched himself out of the clock.
Right when he clocked out, Lou walked up behind him, smiling, "Hey there clumsy." He joked, clocking out too.
