That was more than enough. Elias startled awake, a small gasp leaving his lips. He blinked, unable to make anything out in the dark. He rubbed his eyes, sitting up. "James? What is it?" he asked, realizing what'd been done to wake him up. He wondered why James was awake at this time.
James was shivering, naked as the day he was born. He then softly said, "Ca-can I sleep with you. I'm cold, lying on the floor. The blanket is too thin, and I'm freezing. Please," He said, looking very piteful. He knew he had asked more then he should hope for, but he was hopeful that maybe since it was late at night, that maybe he would take pity on him. He was too cold to think of a better plan.
There was one point in his life where Elias would've just rolled over and let James get into bed with him. But he was past that point. He'd had more than one slave try to kill him. He couldn't trust James right off the bat. Luckily, he'd gotten better at thinking right as he woke up. So instead of agreeing, he swung his legs over, getting out of bed. He walked over to a closet, and grabbed two thick blankets. "Here," he said, tossing them on James' bed. Then he crawled back into his own.
James nodded his head, a little disappointed, but agreed. "Thank you master," He said, going back to his pillow, curling up again, and covering himself in the blankets, quickly falling back asleep, warmer then ever now.
Elias waited until James' breathing returned to a sleeping rhythm, before falling asleep himself. He didn't know when he'd let James into his bed to actually sleep. It varied for all slaves. Maybe never. But he just couldn't take another chance too quickly. He still had scars on his back to remind him of his mistakes.
James slept soundly, sleeping deep into the next morning. But at nine, he was woken up by Elias's phone ringing loudly.
Normally, Elias would've woken up before now. However, being interrupted in the middle of the night had thrown him off a little. So he woke up to the sound of the phone as well. Rolling over, he grabbed it, bringing it to his ear. "Hello?" he roughed out, before clearing his throat.
"Hey, Elias," Came the loud and perky voice of his boss. "How's the new meat treating you? Any problems we should know about, any questions about him you'd like answered."
Elias relaxed, hearing who it was, and flopped back down to his bed. "Mmm, things are going fine. Though I have a complaint. Either get them to me quicker, or feed them. I'm charging you for the expenses I put into his food to get him back to an ideal weight." Hearing his boss ask about questions, he remembered way back when he'd first opened up the box, and how James had looked. "And do you know anything about him having amnesia?" he asked, his other complaint out of the way.
James heard him talking about him, and blushed, standing up from his bed, and looking at him.
"Amnesia," He asked, with apparent glee. "Good, good. The mind erasing worked. Its a new process we have when creating them. We have all memories of their former lives erased, as well as doing a few other physical changes, such as easing their pain nerves in their hole, and the shrinking of the gag reflex. I'm sure you've already discovered this though." |
