"I'm not.. not much at least", he said softly, shaking his head. "Today for example. What did I do to make myself useful? Not much... I more troubled everyone than really helped.."
Blushing a bit as he realised what he was saying he fell silent, focusing on what he was doing. Though when he heard Josh and lost his concentration. Without making any sound he started to suck on his finger while listening to the conversation. Eating schedule? Yes.. he still was somewhat weak.. and there were those bones he could feel through his skin.. but was he really so miserable? Though.. he wouldn't mind eating more.. especially if Sangre would be the one cooking. Maybe there would be some nice sweet things in those meals as well? "And sweets? I would be allowed to eat them still..?", he asked softly, looking at Josh and then Sangre resembling a bit of a puppy asking for a treat. |
Josh cut up a little bit more of the veggies, making sure it was all done before he then walked over to Sangre and carefully dropped the chopped vegetables into the pot of broth so it could all cook. As he focused on Akira, Josh sighed at his words and walked back over. “You have any idea how happy you make me? You’re useful to me Akira, every single day.” he said under his breath.
Sangre tried minding his own businesses but of course it was difficult, even in such a large kitchen. While squeezing a few more lemons for tomorrow’s party, Sangre went to make some warm tea as well for both men until he heard Akira ask him that about sweets. With a light laugh, the chef nodded and looked at Josh. “When should I make dessert?” he wondered. Josh looked at Akira, thinking he was way too adorable to deny. “Every other day. You can make extra’s so that when he wants he can just come in and eat some the days in between.” “Sounds reasonable. Akira can help make it with me. Ah and that reminds me, the different flavored ice-cream are coming in the morning, for the party we can try some, chocolate, mint, strawberry.” Sangre smiled, knowing Akira would surely love at least one of them. |
Akira smiled shyly after Josh said he was useful to him. It was good to hear that he was useful for master. Wasn't it most important? But he still was determined to make himself better. Hearing the part about sweets Akira smiled happily. He loved sweets so far so he was glad he would be able to still eat them.
"Thank you, Master", he said and the looked at Sangre, quite excited. "The ice-creams? Sounds great-" Akira then stopped and looked a bit scared. "P-party?" |
Josh smirked and leaned against the counter as his arm wrapped around Akira’s waist. “You’re welcome.” he said softly. Sangre then looked at Josh and Akira when he heard him suddenly stop talking and ask about the party. The chef shook his head, making his way to the young man and smiling.
“No no, not like that Akira.” Sangre tried explaining before he got overly nervous. “I mean a surprise party, with just us four. We’ll all have some ice cream, some chocolate from the sculpture, and I have a few really delicious meals planned. Nothing to do with other people Akira I promise. It’ll only be the four of us. You, Master, me and Harumi.” Sangre reassured. Heading back so he could put the fresh lemonade in the fridge, Sangre had to make sure he had enough room for the other food. “Sorry if I scared you.” The chef ended. |
"Ah.. That's okay. I'm sorry I get so easily scared..", he muttered and then he blushed a bit as he realised Josh wrapped his arms around him. "Having party like that would be nice.. and it's first birthday party I would be a part of.."
Feeling his legs being a bit weak he looked up at Josh. "Can we sit down? My legs are slightly tired.." |
“It’s fine.” Sangre said instantly, standing in front of the stove so he could monitor the food. “It’ll be fun, hopefully at least a little fun.” he chuckled and looked back at the food.
Josh on the other hand never took his attention off of Akira. When he heard him speak of sitting down, he nodded his head and walked towards the tables. “Of course, let’s sit and I’ll open the letter.” Josh sighed, hoping it wasn’t bad although…he already knew who it was due to where the address was shipped from, and he wasn’t looking forward to it. Pulling the chair out for Akira, Josh sat down on the other side and placed the letter down. Momentarily he just made sure that Akira wasn’t going to fall, really not wanting to see him hurt. “So…if you never attended a birthday, does that mean you never had your own?…although do you know your birthday?” Josh asked, never really specifying his age and that kind of made Josh nervous. Akira looked young, although not enough to be underage thankfully. |
"Thank you, Master", he said and sit down with a sigh of relief.
Akira then looked at Josh and shook his head. "No. I never had birthday.. and I don't really know when I came to this world. Though I believe I'm around twenty two right now. When I was once really sick my ex-master called a doctor and he asked how old I am.. and he then said I was twelve.. so counting from then I should be around twenty two right now", he said with a soft smile. |
Nodding his head in acknowledgment over Akira’s ‘thank you’, he then looked at him and listened intently with each word he spoke. There was some parts that made Josh’s heart ache and others made it lift. “He had you with him that young?” Josh cringed, not realizing his ex-master was around since he was a child, although since his parents weren’t a part of his life, it only made sense but…it was still difficult.
But then Josh perked up and smiled when he heard his age. It was nice to know he knew something about his life, about the day he came into the world. “Twenty two huh?…how about we choose a day for your birthday. It might not be the same as your actual birthday but it would be nice to celebrate.” Josh suggested with a soft smile. |
"I don't really remember anything about myself when I was younger. I was told it was because of some accident.. But I wasn't allowed to ask questions so I don't know anything more about it. And mas.. my ex-master was there as long as I remember."
That said he then looked at Josh and nodded with a sudden smile. "Could it be at Spring? I always thought it would be nice to have birthday then. Everything waking up to life.. and all.. Or it can be the day you picked me up from the street, Master. In a sense you gave me a new life..", he said, blushing while his green eyes rested on the table shyly. |
It was unfortunate to hear Akira say that, but Josh didn’t want to elaborate on it all. If he kept asking about the negatives, it would only make Akira feel bad so he just nodded and listened to what he had to say next.
“Spring hm?” Josh smiled a little more, thinking of what date he could choose for his birthday. It was a difficult decision, and Josh knew it would take a while to think about it. “I found you at the beginning of Autumn, thankfully before it got cold. Although Spring suits you…so, what month do you like. March, April, May or June?” Josh asked with an interested look in his eyes. |
