Darren giggled and hugged the boy again "I'm great thanks to you, I owe you so much, oh... I don't even know your name yet, where are my manners, I'm Darren of course, you are?"

"My name is Hikari." the boy said, hugging him back.

Darren smiled "Well Hikari, I'm truly honored to meet you and I'd love to thank you any way I can for saving me, name whatever you like and I'll do it, I promise" Darren said grinning, he'd always been energetic and hardly thought about what kind of things he could get himself into before doing them

The boy blinked, and was silent for several moments. Then, he finally opened his mouth.
"Will you... Maybe... Go on a date with me?" he asked sheepishly. Hikari, it turned out, was quite gay.

Darren blushed for a moment, half stunned, but finally erupted into a cute giggle "Oh wow, how lucky I am, I get saved and it turns out the boy who does so is more then just cute but also gay, I'll gladly have a date with you Hikari"

"And... Maybe if it goes well we can... We can be boyfriends?" he asked, his face crimson from embarassment.

Darren sighed and smiled "If you'd like we could just be boyfriends right now and date anyways" He said giggling

"You'd... You'd really be my boyfriend?" he asked, obviously shocked.

Darren giggled "It may not be very mainstream but yes, I'm gay, and of course, I'd be happy to be the boyfriend of someone who risked their life for me"

The boy's heart fluttered, and he tentatively gave the singer a big, but gentle, hug.
