John blushed and the laughed.
"Ah well.. you supposedly are right about that.. thought I'm not really ready to check that out. I mean I'm a good cook too and don't have anyone yet.. I don't think I'm quite ready to start... this again", he said for once blunt with what he was thinking.

"That's ok buddy," smiled Gary, "whatever you're comfortable with. I personally think it isn't the most important thing in the world to be in a relationship."

He finished up his omelette.

"Hypothetically speaking, purely hypothetically, would you ever consider me if I were gay? I just want to see if men find me attractive in the same sense that women do. I'm just curious."

John blushed up to his ears, hearing the question. He was silent for a bit and then he nodded, not looking at Gary.
"I think I would..", he said softly. "I m-mean you are kind, open minded, have sense of humor and are protective.. I don't think it metters if it's the guy or a girl if you have these qualities.."

Gary grinned as he stood up and bowed low in front of John.

"Flattered, Monsieur."

He picked up their empty plates and took them to the sink and started washing them.

He looked at Gary taking his empty plate. When did he ate that? He tried to remeber how it tasted but he couldn't... Ah well.. He always could ask Gary to make it once more, right? He sighed and massaged his temples but he stood up and checked if the kittens had enough food.
"Okay.. so take me to that arcade place", he said, putting his phone to the pocket.

(oops, thought he finished the omelette)

"Sure, just hop into my car. I'll drive you there. Will your kittens wish me goodbye first?"

"I don't think so. It's just cats not dogs. They don't die without their owner around. Just 'kiss' them if you wish. I'm sure they would like that", he said giving them some more food into their bowls.

(i didn't understand the meaning of the statement he made about cats not dogs :P )

"See ya, little fellows!" Gary waved at kittens with a laugh before heading out to his car.

(lol.. corrected ;] )

John followed him after closing the doors.
"And hypothetically speaking.. would you consider me if you were gay?", asked John back, when they were near the car.

Gary scratched the back of his neck and grinned.

"That question's a little more difficult, just as you'd find it difficult to answer if asked to imagine you were heterosexual. But I suppose I would consider you, you're a lot like the male version of my high school sweetheart."

He opened the door and got in.
