Akira got a bit flustered, hearing the older male but then he smiled when he said he was joking. Still he had some troubles to see when other people joked.
"Yes. They are fi..", then he started to cough pretty badly, putting his hand to his throat in pain. It really hurt. Why? He was a bit spooked out by it, not really knowing what was happening. |
The doctor noticed Akira cough when he spoke, furrowing his eyebrows and taking the stethoscope and going closer to Akira with it. "I'm going to put this on your chest..." he explained, doing just what he said and placing the cool metal overtop of his lungs, trying to listen to see if anything was built up inside.
When that was cleared, the doctor shifted his focus to Akira's throat and sinuses, another possible reason for him coughing. "What's been causing this?" he asked Josh, not wanting Akira to strain himself anymore. Josh took a moment to look to his boyfriend before speaking. "I'm not sure. Sickness or...maybe because he's been talking a lot recently, but..." Josh sighed, a bit stressed out not knowing the answer. "That's fine, I'll check just relax." The doctor kept calm as he took the tongue depressor and flashlight. "Can you open your mouth for me Akira? I'm going to check your throat for you." He explained once more. |
Akira just listened to what was said and then done what the old doctor asked him. Opening his mouth and sticking out his tongue he just hoped it wasn't anything serious and he wouldn't worry Josh anymore than he already did.

When Akira opened his mouth, the doctor gently placed the wooden depressor into his mouth, pressing it against his tongue and using the flashlight to see the back of his throat. After only a few seconds and a soft hum, the doctor put everything down and smiled. "Not too hard was it? I think I might know what's wrong...you said he's been talking more right?" He asked Josh while taking off his gloves.
Josh slowly nodded, seeing that it was already complete, which was a bit shocking. "Yes, only recently has he been able to speak in over a few years I believe." "Ah." The man said while going into his bag. "It makes sense why this is happening. Your vocal cords have been strained from speaking so much recently because they haven't been used in so long. Now it probably hurts when you speak...are you experiencing symptoms of dryness, a slight feeling of a lump in your throat, or a kind of burning, itching sensation?" He wondered, making sure his diagnosis was accurate before going on with treating it. |
Akira coughed a bit more when it all ended. Hearing the doctor he nodded and started to cough once more. When it stopped.. there was some blood on his hand, making young servant's eyes go wide. It was clear he was really scared right now. His green eyes slowly welled up with tears. Rubbing his eyes he tried to calm down but it was really hard right now.

Nodding in understanding, the doctor was about to get something but paused, noticing the blood and instantly speaking. "That's another symptom, it's not life threatening you'll be okay." He said once more, trying to reassure him.
Even if Josh wanted to hide the fact that they were together, how the hell was it possible to do that with Akira crying? He had to make sure he was alright, so that's what he did. Josh went over to his boyfriend, holding his head in his hands and whispering. "Shhh, don't cry baby just listen to the doctor. You'll be fine, it's not going to hurt you. He'll tell you how it can go away okay?" Josh said very quietly, whispering it to him so that the other man couldn't hear. |
He was really scared.. but when Josh said that, being so close he nodded. Gulping and trying to calm down he looked at the doctor. 'What is it? Why there is blood?' Akira made sure to write slowly so the doctor would understand him. Although he tried to be calm as much as he could his hand was trembling while he wrote.

Noticing most of what Akira had written, the man calmly spoke, trying not to alarm him even more. "Strenuous coughing, as well as your vocal cords being sore enough that they may even begin to chafe is common enough to cause bleeding. It won't be permanent, as long as you allow it to heal. I suggest no speaking for at least the next week or two, try to write out instead like you do now. Also, to help it heal faster I'd recommend drinking something warm with each meal or every morning to keep your mouth moisten and heal faster. Also fruits and greens are good for you during this time, as well as chewing gum to kick in your salivary glands in order to lessen the dryness in your mouth and throat."
Josh made sure to listen to all of that...not liking the idea that he'd be gone during this time though. "Will a tattoo along his neck do any harm?" he asked, having to make sure it wouldn't do anything externally. Shaking his head, the doctor put a finger along Akira's throat and muttered. "No, it should be fine. Only internal agitation is harmful. If it gets worse come to me, although the only thing that can worsen it is speaking loudly, if you must talk, whisper very quietly but I recommend you write more instead." |
Akira blinked and calmed down a bit. Nodding his head he sighed and then looked on the floor. Why it needed to happen before master went there? How he supposed to speak with him like he was now? It was the only thing Akira thought about. There wasn't any, even small, thought about himself. 'I'm sorry, Master..' Writing that Akira glanced at Josh and then his gaze was right away on the floor.

Standing up and putting a few things away, throwing out the gloves and writing out what needed to be done, the doctor didn't focus on the other two, allowing them to speak before heading out and saying a farewell.
Josh looked at Akira, surprise with what he had said. "Sorry? For what? You didn't do anything wrong...you're the one hurting right now, you have no reason to be sorry." Josh tried to make him understand that the fault didn't lie within him. It sucked that his throat was like that, but it didn't mean Akira had asked for it to happen. |
