Montagne leaned in to whisper in his ear. "Then you are going to get my son back," he hissed. "Then you will spend the rest of your life serving me."
"Ye... Yes Sir!" Elias replied, enthusiastic and terrified at the same time.
Montagne smirked and turned to his crew. "We sail to Brazil," he ordered. "You. Untie Mr. Josephs and take him to the brig."
Elias didn't resist, as two or three large men dragged him to the brig.
The ships surgeon mase sure he was hydrated and had no broken bones before leaving him behind. Montagne didn't check up on him. If he had he would have lost control.
Elias sat in the brig, waiting for something to happen. He wondered what Hawthorne was doing right now. He swore, if he ever saw that bastard again, he would personally have his head.
David was thinking the same thing about Elias. Hawthorne had tied him to a chair in his quarters and replaced the gag. He hadn't given up on trying to get untied even though the ropes were digging into his skin so much that they were bleeding.
"So, tell me, David... What do you think your father and Josephs are doing right now?"
David smirked. "My father is probably disposing of Josephs body right now," he said.
"Somehow, I get the impression he's doing something else to Josephs' body." Hawthorne smirked.
David rolled his eyes. "He has others for that," he said. "Elias isn't worth his time."
"You'd be surprised. I myself had him in my bed a few times, and I'm sure you have too."
David looked revolted. "Disgusting! He's my father!"
Hawthorne rolled his eyes. "I meant Josephs, you idiot..."
David smirked. "Not worth my time," he said. "I prefer men with more substance."
"Substance? Personality wise, or body wise?" Hawthorne smirked.
David smirked, moving his hips suggestively. "Both," he purred.
Hawthorne bit his lip. "Listen... This may seem to come out of nowhere, but if there's anything you want, just ask, ok?"
David was shocked. But his face remained cold. "I want to go back to the Rose," he snarled, fighting against the ropes still.
Hawthorne sighed. "You know I can't do that. I'll loosen the ropes, if you promise not to run away, ok?"
David sighed and sat back heavily. "Fine," he said, looking away from him.
Hawthorne nodded, and loosened David's ropes. "There. That's purely because you're your father's son."
David rolled his eyes. "You're better fitted to a maids quarters than the sea," he muttered.
"Yeah, I know, I'm a big soft lass... If I like you, that is."
"Oh? And why do you like me?"
"There are two types of men in this world: Ones who would backstab you, and ones who see it isn't honorable. You're the latter."
David smirked. There was a flaw in his logic. "Ironic, coming from one who is the preceeding," he muttered.
Hawthorne shrugged. "Perhaps. However, I'm not exactly on the best terms with myself."
David raised an eyebrow, then shook his head.
Hawthorne finished untying David, and sat down next to him. "Listen... I really didn't want to do this, but I have to."
David shook his head. "Is this a jest?!" He stood and went towards the window. "This is nothing but revenge for you acting a blind maid."
"You don't understand. I loved your father, and he broke my heart. So, I must have payback."
David laughed and turned towards him. "I understand perfectly," he said. "My father has always been a seaman. Staying in one harbor and heart was never his style. But you, a puppy-bitch, actually thought he would prefer to stay with than leaving with his Rose and when he did leave you had a hell's fit. Now you want to punish him for being the man he is. I see why he left a fishwife like you." He turned back towards the window and clinched his fists.
"Well, what was I supposed to do? I loved him, remember. He was my first."
"MOVE ON! For God's sake you're a pirate! To be swooning over another man is...oh you aren't worth time nor shiproom."
Hawthorne cocked his eyebrow. "You realise if I moved on, I would have no use for you, correct?"
David turned to face him, his face set in a cold stare. "I would rather be dead than a tool against my crew."
"Trust me. You wouldn't. The ways I could kill you..."
David's stare didn't change. Yes he was scared and it was in his eyes. But his crew was his world and he wasn't going to betray them in anyway.
Meanwhile, on the Rose, Elias raised his head to look at the door of his cell, which was being opened by Montagne.
