"A messenger?" Azrael held back a chuckle, making his chest rumble slightly instead. "Hardly." the angel mumbled, his eyes yet again watching as Dritz went for more beer. More? Well this would be interesting, having his friend drunk. He was curious how he'd act towards him.
When he came back over, Azrael eyed the alcohol before listening to him, and as he was nudged he looked at his bear arm and smiled. "You have to be joking about being dizzy from spinning. Everyone knows that." Azrael sighed, although was clearly amused by what Dritz was saying. |
"Well when they come in the middle of the night and I am told that you are in a meeting, that is a messenger," sighed Dritz as he watched the crowds. "And it seems that the children are being herded by the parent's. Time to be getting ready for bed it seems."
Dritz waltzed over to some of the children and parents to wish them a good night as he patted the children's heads and started to help clean up some of the mess as the adults began to bring out some other spirits as the children and some families were retiring for the night. |
Azrael then nodded, knowing he was right about that. A massager, that was a lot better than what he had to do. Noticing how the children were being sent back to their homes by their parents, Azrael knew all too well it was time to go...the happiness and fun was over, his old life would return once the morning arose.
Azrael wasn't surprised when Dritz stood up and went to the parents and children. So social compared to himself, so much more welcoming. Grabbing his glass of beer, that had barely anything left in it, Azrael drank it all and put it down, licking his lips clean and glancing back to where he lived. Just go home...sleep, and return to doing the same thing each and every day. Shaking his head, Azrael looked at Dritz, curious if he should say something to him before leaving. Usually a friend would say 'yes' to that thought, but seeing him smiling with the others made the angel hesitate. |
"Are you and your friend going to stay up and drink with us?" Asked one of the girls as she looked up to Dritz and looked over to Azrael.
"I am not sure. I am going to check on my grandmother to make sure she doesn't need any help before I have to turn in," smiled Dritz and patted the woman's head and walked away. The young woman pouted, but walked over to Azrael with a bottle of wine in her hand. "So..." |
Azrael had planned to go, just head home without a word. Dritz had a good time, and ruining it by giving a little bit of small talk wasn't worth it. As he was about to turn around, the angel froze and paused, his eyes resting on a female. Hearing her say that simple word, Azrael cocked an eyebrow, waiting for more but it seemed she hadn't planned on elaborating.
"So?" The man whispered back, taking a moment to drift in silence before he spoke once more. "What wine is that?" he wondered, eyeing the glass in her hand almost lazily. Azrael had a very relaxing gaze, although it seemed to make him look bored a lot of the time, resulting in people sometimes mistaking him for being uninterested while speaking to him. |
"Oh...it's a red blend..." She smiled up at him as she stepped a little closer. "Are you going to be staying?"
Dritz helped his grandmother with putting away the dishes as he walked her to her room to go to bed. He tucked her in and kissed her forehead. "Good night, uncle," mused the elderly woman as she smiled softly at him. "Good night, Pricilla," he replied and closed the door. One thing he curses about his life span was that he watched his family die from old age. It was a normal thing to do for the last couple of generations to call them "grandmother" or "grandfather" as they got older since it is always weird to say "cousin" or whatever the title is. |
Azrael hummed and nodded, eyeing the wine a little more. "Looks delicious." he muttered.
Azrael's eyes then strayed from the woman when she asked that, taking a moment to think about it before answering. "I was planning on heading home actually. Why do you ask?" The angel wondered, his wings lazily resting against his back, the tips nearly touching the ground from the sheer size of them. |
(Realized I forgot to give a description of the girl...I feel like a fool)
"Well you see, I thought that you and I could drink this together somewhere and I don't mind if you wish some company at home," she smiled as her brown hair swayed gently by a passing breeze. Her chocolate eyes looking hopeful as she licked her dry lips. |
(lol aw it's fine, really! XD)
Azrael noticed the look in the woman's eyes, seeing her lick her lips, and the way she spoke to him. Return to his home? It sounded like an invitation, and despite Azrael being interested he still was slightly ambivalent for a few reasons. Glancing towards where Dritz had left, the angel took another moment to hesitate before his eyes returned to the girl. "Who am I speaking with, may I ask? And if alcohol is included with your company, then I'd happily oblige." Azrael finally said, his expression slightly more 'light', and not as tense as earlier, although it still remained rather casual. |
"The name is Laura and of course I will bring some of my red wine," she smiled up at him as she took another step closer and brushed a hand against his feathers. "Want to get going now before all the other party goers come out?"
