I'm not that up on either anime or manga, I just know what I've run into over the years. Everyone will probably laugh at me that the first one to pop up on my list of favorite anime would be:

Digimon

Yes, sad but true, but in my defense, I was a kid when it was on TV. I was never a great fan of Pokemon, as many of my friends were. I was big into the Power Rangers, too, but that's another story. :o

Shortly after this, I saw "Robot Carnival" on The SciFi Channel (remember when that channel was actually worth watching?), and it changed my view of animation forever. I would dearly love to get that one on DVD.

Lately, in no particular order, I've enjoyed:

Full Metal Alchemist
Ghost In the Shell
Neon Genesis Evangelion (probably my fave of the lot, if I had to pick one)
Naruto

And I'm not sure if it counts, but you don't have to be Stephen Hawking to figure out that I'm a pretty big fan of "Avatar: The Last Airbender".
<<<<<<<<<<<< :D

In SyFy's anime block on Monday nights, they were recently showing one called "Monster" which I was intrigued by, but never watched often enough to know what was going on.

Lately, I've been watching "Ragnarok" and "Negima!" (not to be confused with "Negima!?":D ) on online sites. The first one I don't understand so well, as I am not familiar with the game it's based on, but it's enjoyable enough. I've just seen the first few episodes of "Negima!", but it's hilarious ("OOOOOH! He's so CUUUUTE!") I've been reading ahead in the textbook, so I know it gets darker as it goes along.

And if I know little about anime, I know even less about manga. I just started looking for online sites to read (as a previous poster stated, I'm reluctant to shell out the money to buy them), and so far there's not much to report.

I love Avatar The Last Airbender too! I watch it whenever it's on. It's very easy to get into, I think. I tried watching Monster on SyFy too, but I never really got what was going on either.

I do like serial style animes where every episode is part of a singular story, but at the same time it's a pain in the ass to get into without starting at the very first ep >_< Which is why I don't really like Ghost in the Shell. Plus you'd probably have to watch about 10 episodes or so to tell if it's crap or not. At which point you might as well finish the series cuz you've made it THAT far xD
