I really don't think gender or even sexual orientation matters much when it comes to yaoi, yuri, etc. I am gay and like yaoi, but that is just my own preference, as I have known a lesbian women to like yaoi.

i think that being a homosexual isn't a requirement. I mean i guess it might make some question but not meaning one is a homosexual. Heterosexuals i know are my friends and are actually weirded out that i read it and but one actually read it and liked it but does not consider himself attracted to men in real life.

I'd say whatever floats your boat and doesn't drown anyone else. And yaoi is usually for females, just like yuri is usually read by guys.

I am a straight male but something about yaoi is just so great! I think it's better than yuri,:D
