"I don't know... Magic?" Ron said, looking at Zane as if Zane was an idiot. "Why wouldn't we be?" Draco and Harry asked in confusion.

" becasue you two hate each other?" Zane said to them woundering why they had stopped at the top of the stairs.

"Oh... doesn't mean we're going to kill each other, unless we want to go to Azkaban..." Draco said, sighing. "Students! Now... before you enter the Great Hall, you must realise that you will be sorted into 4 Great Houses... Griffendor, Slytherin, Hufflepuff... and Ravenclaw. Each House has its own dorms and its own points. The house with the most points at the end of the year wins the House Cup..." Professor McGonnagal said.

Zane listend to the woman who was talking to them" they sound interesting....but what if we don;t get into any of the houses?" zane muttered to himself as he continued to listen to the woman before she turned and lead the group into the great hall.

"To answer your question, you WILL be in a house, regardless, as you will be sorted into one of the four" the woman said, not looking back, before heading over to a man with a large white beard, who gave her a scroll. There were a lot of kids in the great all, eating delicious food. "Now when I call your name, you will come over to here and the Sorting Hat will be placed on your head, it will decide what house you belong to" the woman said next.

Zane could hear whispers as he stood among the group of first years waiting to be sorted." please put me in a good house" he said to himself.

Draco Malfoy went up first out of Zane, Harry, him, Alex and Ron. As soon as the hat touched his head, the hat shouted out "Slytherin!", and Draco proudly joined the Slytherin table. Next was Zane.

Zane took a seat on the stool only to have the hat placed on his head" interesting....I could be in slytherin, or griffendor Im not sure which house to place you in" the hat said in a troubled tone.

Draco and Harry watched intently as they waited for the Hat to make it's declaration of what house Zane would be in.

The hatt was starting to get confused as it went back and forth from the two houses only to have it be yanked off the Zanes head" Zane would you please follow that teacher?" the woman asked as a teacher rose and walked over to zane " this way" they said as the teacher lead zane out of the great hall and up to the headmaster office.
