Adriel smelled it again. It was the smell of someone who needed to be protected, at it had filled the room as soon as Lloyd started to cry. His body moved instinctively, quickly, snapping to be beside Lloyd as he hugged the man in his arms.

"I want to love you too," he breathed into Lloyd's ears. "But I don't know how. I don't know how to let my mind express my love. But I promised to help you, and I shall keep my word." He just stood there, hugging a half-naked Lloyd on his arms, almost encompassing him whole with the difference in height, like as though Adriel was his shell. He slowly unwrapped his arms around Lloyd. "Let's head to the bookstore. We should discuss more of this over at that side."

Lloyd smiled, and stroked Adriel's face. "Thank you. Now, where's that kiss you promised me?"

"I promised you... a kiss?" Adriel refused to believe it. "Tell me what I said. I do remember promising to love you and to help you avenge your father, but not a kiss."

"You said 'We'll discuss it over coffee and a kiss.'"

"Oh, so you'd prefer coffee over tea?" He bent over to face Lloyd. One half of him was screaming not to let this pass, while the other half urged him on to fufill his promise. He latched his lips onto Lloyd's, pressing their faces together and taking a deep breath of Lloyd's scent as he kissed. A full, good, head-on passionate kiss, savouring every lick and taste of Lloyd's pure soul that now belonged to him.

Lloyd stroked the man's face, and kissed him back, matching his passion.

Adriel let go. He didn't want to carry this too far. He put his serious voice into play. "Change up. We're leaving in ten minutes. I'll cook you breakfast in the cafe of the bookstore. No buts." He put a finger to Lloyd's lips, kissing it gently, before speeding back to his room for a quick shower.

Lloyd smiled, and got dressed. He went down to the Cafe, and waited at a table.

As Adriel walked to the bookstore with Lloyd he let out a low moan, trying to relieve himself of the events that had occurred last night. He didn't want ot think about it, but he did anyway. Flipping through his notebook he realised that a new shipment of books were coming in today. Opening the shutter, he let Lloyd into the store, firing up the stove and finding his trusty cast-iron skillet.

"Here you go," Adriel shifted a plate of pancakes, sausages, scrambled eggs and cheese to Lloyd. "Sorry it's not much of a luxury breakfast, but it looks like you could put on some weight." He sat across Lloyd as he bowed. "Bon apetit."

Lloyd smiled, and ate the breakfast. "Listen, I found something that night... Something you probably should see."

He took what appeared to be an emblem from his pocket, and put it in front of Adriel.

"Recognise this?"
