He looked at Gary, really surprised.
"You don't need to open the doors for me.. Just think how it may look from the side...", he said, blushing a little and getting out.
John knew he sounded a bit harsh but he was just thinking what's better for them both. He didn't want any hushed words of critique and weird looks, especially not on Gary as he was nice enough to not care that he was gay.

"Sorry about that then, I didn't realize that," Gary smiled as he locked the car. He looked up at the large colourful sign reading Flavour Junkies. "Let's go in."

"Uh.. It's ok.. Sorry if I sounded harsh or something.."
When they went inside he looked around. It was nice with everything in industrial style. He liked it really much.
"Looks like a nice place", he said to Gary. "And I'm starting to feel really hungry."

"Uh huh, I'm pretty much starving. Come let's take a look at what they've got. I'll most probably go for some tacos."

When they walked closer to the cash registers and started to read what they could get he took a quick look at Gary. He looked good as always and with it he drew to himself a lot of attention. John shook his head and concentrated on choosing something.

Gary ran a hand through his thick spiky black mane. "Nachos with tomato cheese and sweet salsa, tacos with pork filling. Maybe some Indian bhel puri too, looks delicious and I'm starving. And some ice cream milkshake. What about you?"

John was silent for a little bit.
"Pita with roasted bacon, kebab. I never ate bhel puri so I will copy that from you. And to drink.. Vanilla milkshake and cola."

"Hello there and welcome to Flavour Junkies!" said an attractively dressed woman behind the counter. She smiled almost flirtatiously at Gary. "First time here?"

"Guilty as charged," Gary smiled back at her. "Wanted to check the place out. With my buddy here."

"Great choice. What'll you have for your first time here?"

"Hmmm, let's see." Gary then rattled off their order. "As you can guess, we're both pretty hungry," he grinned.

"Wow, way to go," said the woman, looking at their order. "Take a seat, your order will be ready in 20 minutes."

John sighed looking from the side, without telling anything. Well... Gary really was a handsome man so it was only natural for others to flirt with him. How could he ever have a chance, even if he would be gay or at least bi? He just nodded his head when the woman said they need to wait twenty minutes, though no one was looking at him.
"Where do you want to sit? Maybe near window?", he asked with his usual, distant smile.

"Yeah sure. Let's go find ourselves a seat near the windows."

The place was really nice. It was evidently popular as there were many people, but it wasn't over crowded and they found a place soon enough near a large open window through which they could look outside.

And then for the first time Gary seemed to notice.

"Hey. Nice jacket. Did you buy it today?"
