High school lovers (Private for me and sumomiro)
Lewis Drake was so bored. It was the middle of his maths class, and the teacher's voice sounded like a million flies on a hot summer's day.
Scribbling onto a piece of looseleaf, Chris did his best to copy the notes off the board. Taking a glace towards the clock he sighed seeing that only seven minutes had past in what had felt like thirty. Waiting for the teacher to turn back to write down more notes, he took out his cellphone, sliding it to get the keyboard and clicked the keys as fast as possible, 'lunch?'. As quickly as the phone had appeared it was away, a text sent to the one person he knew was as bored as he was.
Lewis heard his phone chime in his pocket. Discreetly pulling it out, unlocking it, and typing "I'll be there with bells on :P"
Jumping at the vibration of the answer, the young student once again checked and subtly pulled out the pocket-sized device. He couldn't help but laugh a bit at the response, though tried not as to not be discovered. Happy with his plans, he put the phone back and willed himself to pay attention, but his mind continued to wander.
The bell suddenly rang, causing Lewis to jump slightly. "Ok, everyone, it's lunch . Don't forget your homework!" shouted the teacher, as everyone was already rushing for the door.
"God, why does she treat us like we're kids?" Lewis asked Chris when they were out of her earshot. |
"Because most of us still are..." he responded with a laugh, pointing to a group of guys congregated around a locker. "A little birdie told me that a few people are planning to have a water-ballon fight in the parking lot, some of us just never grow up I guess" he finished, shaking his head with a pleasant wonderment.
Lewis laughed slightly. "Oh, God. Here's hoping they don't cause too much damage, eh? Remember the time we put blasting caps under Mr.Villiers' car? That was hilarious!"
Chris smiled, "Oh, now -that- was a good day... what was that again about being treated like kids, huh Lewis?" he said with a look, giving the man a playful punch in the arm.
"It was Diana's idea. Remember, she's the one who wears a t shirt with "I have boobs, you must obey" Across the front?"
"Well, when a t-shirt makes a valid point like that" he shrugged merrily, stopping Lewis so he could throw his book and binder into the small locker he had. Tossing in the items, he made sure he wasn't missing anything. "Where is Diana anyway? I had hoped to kind of warn her about the watery massacre that's about to go down".
"Behind you." Lewis replied.
"Diana!" Chris yelped, turning to face the womasn in question, "You need to stop doing that" he breathed. "Oh, word to the wise, beware the parking lot... a war is about to begin" the male spoke, nudging his head towards the now departing party with suspicious looks and their jackets done up, shielding their ammo.
"Ok." She replied moving around Chris, and latching onto Lewis. "How are you, baby?" She asked him. Lewis shrugged. "Same old, same old."
"We were just reminiscing about that fateful day when we put blasting caps under you-know-who's car, remember? You were the ring leader after all" Chris joked, "I don't think I ever ran so fast in my life!"
"Oh, yeah, i remember that. We never did get caught, did we? Well, gotta go. See ya, fags!" Diana replied, flouncing off
Lewis rolled his eyes in distaste. " I hate it when she calls us that..." |
Chris held his tongue, just letting his body rest against the locker, though he nodded to Lewis's comment. Taking a breath, he spoke once again "So... what should we do for lunch?" he asked, trying to smile, trying to pretend that Diana hadn't said the ugly word.
Lewis smiled cheekily "Well, I don't know about you, but i've got the last two periods free, so i'm going back to my place. want to come with?"
"Hmm... well, we do have next period free" he stated, "We could go out for food, just go for a drive..." the last part trailed off. A rush of students suddenly came down the hall, the crowd clearly heading for parking area. "The only issue is... our transportation is in the middle of a warzone" he mused.
"Chris, you ever play Left 4 Dead? Imagine the people throwing waterballoons are zombies, and my car is the chopper, ok?"
Chris nodded, "Sounds like a plan... let's do it!" he said with a laugh.
Quickly, he moved down the hallway to reach the door but stopped as a ballon splashed the exterior. "Who's vehicle are we going to take, mine or yours?" he questioned, looking for a route in the watery slaughter. |
"Remember? I left mine at home and got a ride with you this morning?"
"Right, right" Chris remembered, "... okay, I have a plan; my car is at the east side of the parking lot, near the exit. If we can move inbetween the cars and make our way down, we should have a good amount of cover" he said, pointing to show his sandy coloured near the end of the lot.
Lewis nodded. "Sounds like a plan. Let's do it." He pulled his t shirt slightly over his head, to shield himself from the waterbombs.
Chris followed suit, pushing the door open before dashing through the crowd and straight into the maze of cars. He checked to make sure Lewis was behind him, than moved along the side of a van. Looking out, he saw the area was clear and turned to the right, staying low. "Good so far" he breath, stopping for a moment to rest as a few ballons fell, splashing a few of the cars in the area.
Lewis nodded. Suddenly, a balloon hit him square in the torso, soaking his shirt.
"So close..." Chris whispered, giving the man a look of sympathy. Waving, the student led Lewis through more cars, finally managing to get to his. "Go around, I'll unlock the door" he commanded, getting up to take out his keys just as a balloon flew towards him. The rubbery bomb exploded on his back, drenching him from the neck down. Within seconds, he had the doors open and jumped into the car just as another blitz reached them.
Lewis cursed, and removed his shirt as he got into the car. "Yeah, we made it!" He whooped in celebration.
Jamming the key into the ignition, Chris started the engine and began their great escape, managing to make it through the exit and onto the streets. He breathed a sigh of relief, "Ya... we really did, didn't we?"
Casually driving through the suburbs, he turned to his passenger at a stop sign, "So...where to?" |
"My place. Just park it outside. My mum's at work, and my brother's at school, so we should be home alone."
"Sounds like a party" he teased, driving off towards his friend's home. It didn't take them long to reach it, Chris parking by the curb and locking the car as they got out. "Man... I'm soaked" he grimaced, ringing out his shirt as he headed for the door.
Lewis grabbed a key from under the doormat, and opened the door. when they were inside, he turned to Chris, and said "So? What do you want to do first?"
"Hmm... food sounds nice" he said, taking off his shoes fixing his newly soaked blonde hair.
"What you hungry for?" Lewis replied, winking, and running a hand through his black hair. He frowned, looking in a mirror, hoping the hundreds of dollars he had spent getting his tips frosted were not wasted.
Chris gave him a look of curiousity, stopping for a moment to admire Lewis's reflection along with him. "I have to say, if there was anyone I had to go through a water balloon fight with... I'm glad it was you" he said, punching the man playfully in the arm.
Lewis grinned "Thanks mate, same to you." Suddenly, he gave the other man a great big hug. "Just sayin'."
Chris returned the hug, happy in his friend's arms. His eyes glanced at their reflection, the two of them joyous together, complete. "Lewis... what are we gonna do?" he finally asked, looking into the eyes of the man.
Lewis' eyes darted away for a split second. "Well, there is something i've always wanted to try... If you're ok with it, i mean..."
"Umm... sure" Chris responded, confused for a moment, but oddly intrigued. He was enjoying being so close to Lewis, he trusted him, they had been friends for a while after all. "What did you have in mind?"
"Well... I wonder, what does kissing another man feel like? I mean, it's ok if you don't want to try it, but i would like to see what being gay is like."
Caught off-guard, Chris processed the words in his mind. 'What? Lewis?' he thought for a moment, he had known that he himself was... different, to say the least, but he never imagined Lewis. "I... I guess so" he choked out, "But I thought you and Diana..." the sentence trailed off.
