Blue uniforms swarmed and buzzed around Central's military headquarters like a hive that had recently been kicked by a foolish child. The lingering effects of recent wars and the unsurpassed power of the military had given all of its recruits, both young and old, a sudden and long lasting burst of work to do. And really, it was all thanks to him, but it wasn't like any of the stupid pathetic little worms would ever realize they owed their livelihoods to him.

Envy sneered faintly as he moved in and out of busy officers, wearing the mask of a young, but sharp eyed lieutenant. It wasn't nearly as attractive as his preferred form but at least it wasn't some ugly perverted old priest. And after all, it was perfect for his current assignment, follow and watch one Edward Elric. Gather information on his movements and research and if possible, keep him from causing grief for Father.

The sin couldn't quite hide the excitement in his currently hazel eyes. He LOVED hunting for the shrimp. The boy was engaging and easily enraged. It was great amusement! And keeping Father happy at the same time wasn't so bad either.

Edward Elric suddenly burst from Roy Mustangs office angrily and stomped down the halls of Headquarters, his hands balled into a fist. Even though Ed diddnt say a word it was obvious he was pissed.

his face was crimson and anger boiled inside of him as he pushed past several soilders making his way to the mess hall.
He had just had a very heated argument with the Colonel about his asighnment or more approriatly the LACK of asighnment ....Roy had given the young alchemist the strict orders to not leave headquaters unless he was supervised.

Envy's attention was drawn to the sound of stomping and startled exclamations. He craned his neck a bit, looking for a blond antenna that would trail down into a neat braid and familiar red coat. A wide grin split his lips the moment he caught sight of the enraged figure, not more than half a hall ahead of him. Well at least he had found his target easily. Now all he had to do was follow and watch and....that would be incredibly boring.

Envy frowned as he stalked after Edward with long strides, why not make contact before Ed got into mischief? It wouldn't hurt to just place a few jabs here and there and see what kind of scene the runt made. The homunculus grinned to himself as he continued to follow Ed into the mess hall, staying back a little ways for now, waiting for the right moment.

Ed grumbled to himself as he scanned the mess hall for Al, he knew he needed to blow off his steam before he did something stupid, and Al was always good as a soundboard to him, but his metal bound brother was nowhere to be seen, Ed glanced over to the lunch that was being served, debating wether he should grab something to eat before he went looking for his brother.

everything looked very unapetizing to the alchemist and he decided just to grab something to drink.

Ed saw what he wanted, a can of soda but as he reached for it another officer grabbed it up, not even noticing Eds presence...Ed reached to grab another can but looked in time to see that there were no more sodas left only white bottles of milk.

"GAAAAAAA!" Ed suddenly flew into a volly of colorful swear words.

Envy paused for the briefest of moments to watch the small alchemist rant and swear at what looked like..bottles of milk? This made absolutely no sense to the sin but he logged it away in his memory for later consideration and potential Chibi Pestering purposes.

Placing a neutral expression on his face, Envy strode toward Edward and purposely collided with the short teenager. He made sure to knock into the boy at an angle, so it wouldn't LOOK like it was intentional, and reached a hand over to grab one of the milks to further his alibi. He stared down at Ed with false surprise and blinked once, speaking in a very surprised tenor.

"Sorry, I didn't see you down there. Are you hurt?"

"WHO ARE YOU CALLING SO SMALL THAT YOU TRY STEPPING ON THEM LIKE A BEAN!!!!"

Ed screamed going onto rant mode. this day was getting worse by the moment, Edward stopped to catch his breath from his rant and glared at the soldier who had almost ran over him. his golden eyes locked for a full minuet as silence fell between them.
Ed had the faintest sense that somehow this soldier was somehow familiar somewhere deep in his eyes, but Ed shrugged it off...there were hundreds of officers at HQ, it was not unusual to forget who was who.

YES! There it was! Spastic ranting chibi!!!!!! Envy mentally allowed himself a yippy moment and then refocused on Edward as the runty alchemist stared him down, or rather up. After the slight silence following the outburst he offered Edward a friendly smile and extended the hand not holding the milk toward the teen.

"Lieutenant Chase Eckman. I don't think I've had the pleasure of meeting you yet. You are Full Metal aren't you? I've heard about your temper." He chuckled softly, allowing a little of his own true amusement to filter through. There was nothing wrong in playing this charade up a bit. It would be fun to see how far he could string Edward along before the boy became too suspicious. IF he did!

Edward pressed his lips together continuing to glare...and did not return the handshake.
"Yeah well I'm not in the mood for formalities so if you will excuse me I have to be somewhere."

The Alchemist turned his back to leave.... he diddnt like the way this Lieutenant guy looked so happy. and he wanted to find Al.

He had enough of military personel sticking their big noses into his buisness. he diddnt care what Mustang said, he was going to do what HE wanted...and what he wanted now was a little bit of freedom.

'Eckman' arched a well trimmed eyebrow at Edward's rapid and rude departure and allowed a strange glint to flash in his hazel eyes, which for the briefest of seconds flickered to a bright violet. He calmly looked at the milk bottle and then tossed it haphazardly across the room. Smirking when he heard a distinct thunk and a few choice curses, but he was all ready on his way out of the mess hall, stalking Edward once again.

It wouldn't be too wise for Ed to see the same face though. The chibi was reacting like a caged animal, albeit a small animal with clipped claws but even still he didn't want his game to end because Edward was being snippy with the military. Making certain that Edward was ahead of him enough not to notice any quick changes and that no one else was close enough to see, he altered his face slightly, short brown hair became gently curled and highlighted with honey tones, hazel eyes warped to a vibrant green and a subtle shift of height brought him down two inches.

In this new guise he continued to roam behind Edward, casually going about his business on the outside, while waiting for a better opportunity to really toy with the runt, following him wherever he went, which currently appeared to be the exit into Central.

Edward stepped out of central Head Quarters and took a deep breath of fresh air, completly oblivious that he was being followed.
Ed quickened his pace, he felt compelled to get out from under the shadow of the military building, he wouldnt go too far, just far enough to make Mustang think worry a bit.

Ed grinned at that thought. The Central Library seemed like a good choice, it was usually empty and there was always something there that could take his mind off of his problems. besides Al might already be there.

Ed gingerly climbed the steps leading to the Library that was restricted to Alchemist only and was dismayed to see that the doors were locked.

"Dammit" Ed mutterd

Envy had followed Edward out, through the streets to the steps of the library. Honestly, both the Elric boys were such bookworms. Not that books were bad, but there was so much more to life than just reading and studying, like starting wars or discovering inventive ways to kill people! Now that was a decent way to spend one's time.

The sin blinked once to refocus his mind and took a quick glance around, the street was devoid of humans for the time being. Just Edward, and his current, 'human' form. Well there was no harm in getting a better vantage point for chibi-watching.

Envy crouched down and then jumped up, catching the ledge of a window and using it to push his body up and scale the side of the building he had been using for cover. Once atop the roof he shifted back to his preferred form, long black hair with a greenish tint flared around him in spiked tresses, the tips brushing against the waist band of his skirt like wrap. He smiled widely and rested his hands on narrow, but effeminately curved hips, watching his chibi below.

Ed looked around for a second then scampered over to the left side of the building.
The Library was never closed...not even at night. Ed clapped his hands togther and with a flash of Alchemy Ed created an archway in the side of the wall and entered the Library via his own entrance.
The library was dimly lit. but Ed diddnt need to see where he was going to get to where he wanted.
The Library was mapped into his mind and he quickly made his way down a set of stairs that led to the basement level of the basement, where restricted alchemy books were kept.

Pale lips curled into a wide smirk as Envy watched Edward make his own entrance with a predatory gaze. He quickly descended from his perch and slipped into the silent building behind the short alchemist on silent feet. Shadows offered him ample cover should the runt suspect any presence behind his back, but it seemed Edward was intent on his destination.

It was a pity they boy was so oblivious sometimes, but as Ed continued down into the lowest level of the building he couldn't help but find it convenient. Now he could have some fun and there wouldn't be any interference from irritating onlookers.

Envy crept up carefully behind a dusty shelf of books and peered between the handwritten tomes to glance at Edward. He grinned a bit and decided to amuse himself a bit. Reaching up he pushed on a few heavy books, morphing his form as they fell forward, so that as each thick volume hit the floor with an echoing thud, the only thing Edward might spy in the area was a tiny black mouse, with sparkling, if not slightly malicious, black eyes.

Ed jumped at the sound and spun around his eyes flashing still full of anger.

"Whos there!!!" Ed called out "I know someone is there...show yourself!" Ed said more forcefully this time looking around. he could sense a presence now, but it was faint.
the Alchemist clapped his hands and raised them above his head creating a flash of light...illuminating the dusty basement.

"I said SHOW YOURSELF!" Ed yelled.

Long thin whiskers twitched at the sudden brightness of the light, and Envy found himself staring up at Edward from the floor around the corner of the book shelf. He snickered mentally at the unease the teenager was displaying and scurried across the floor toward the books he had caused to topple to the ground, climbing up them and sitting on the top, looking at Edward with as common an expression as any mouse would make.

He even squeaked for effect, as if responding to Ed's demand to be seen and heard. Though he idly wondered if the little bean sprout could figure out his resident rodent was no rodent at all. Amusement danced in bright black eyes.

Ed squinted looked at the mouse who seemed oddly unafraid of him.
"Stange" Ed said taking a step toward the mouse and put a causiouse hand out to the rodent..then swatted it off the book .....the book that the mouse was on was the exact book Ed had come down there for.

All of the events made Ed uneasy and he took a step back clutching the book, straining his ears to hear any other noises.

Envy was entirely set to bite the hand approaching when he suddenly felt a hard blow and was flying through the air. His eyes widened as he hit the ground and rolled a little, the tiny mouse form not standing up well to the abusive slap Ed had delivered.

If there was one thing the sin hated more than humans it was pain. Pain was meant to be given to other things BY him, not given TO him. He growled and spat a series of nasty curses as the bones reformed and healed. Minor injuries easily fixed but injuries all the same.

Unable to control his tongue he hissed, "Damn you pipsqueak!"

Almost as soon as the words were out of his mouth he realized his mistake and twitched, but he'd all ready spoken so it was pointless now. With a crackle of white-blue alchemic energy his body shifted, changing into his favored, cute form.

Ed spun around toward the sound of the voice just in time to see the form change into Envy
The Alchemist face grimaced in surprise..and he took a step backward.

"Y-YOU!" Ed finnaly managed, now feeling stupid as soon as he said it. "What do you thing YOUR doing here!" Ed quickly added not wanting to sound like an idiot.

Eds mind then rewound a second.

"WAIT....did you call me PIPSQUEAK!" he gritted his teeth and took a defensive postion.

Envy smirked openly, planting a fist against his right hip and tossing his head back, offering Ed a grin that split his lips far too wide over white teeth.

"Hello O-Chibi-San! Long time no see. Did you miss me?" Taunting was his favorite part about confrontations with Ed. The runt was just so amusing. And offering a chirpy greeting was the best way to start things off.

Envy may not have looked it, but his muscles were coiled to spring, ready to attack. His blood surging and almost screaming for the battle to come.

Ed gritted his teeth glaring daggers at Envy.....him showing up was the icing on the cake of his terrible day.

Ed quickly transmuted his automail into sharp blade.
"Enough small talk...what do you want!?.....not that it matters...because what ever it is you want.....YOUR NOT GETTING!" Ed then leapt from his spot and charged at Envy with a yell.

Envy allowed Ed to charge, gracefully back flipping well out of the reach of Ed's range. He grinned again, violet eyes dancing with delight as he chuckled.

"How do you know shorty? Maybe I just came by to play. Which is exactly what you're giving me. So you've all ready lost then haven't you? Tsk tsk, poor little Edo!" He pouted at the other boy mockingly, still goading the other, biding his time.

Ed was furiouse...there was nothing more he wanted but to smack that smirk off of Envys smug face. Ed lashed out again getting dangerously close to the sins face.

"Whats the matter Envy, Father getting tired of you....not buying you enough toys!" Ed sneered slicing his arm downward hoping desperatly it would connect with Envys face....he blood racing ...his heart pumping even faster, he knew he had never really managed the skill of taunting and fighting at the same time...he always ran out of breath.

The sin reached out, almost blindingly fast, batting away Ed's attack as if it were a child's blow. Granted he normally evaded rather than defended but the chibi was just so damn close and well, the way he looked flustered and panting for breath was interesting.

He pressed in close, suddenly, almost nose to nose with Edward, violet eyes peering with a mixture of malice and amusement that was nothing short of manic insanity, but it worked for him. "Father will never tire of me, I'm too loyal."

He lashed out, bringing his right leg up to push his knee into Ed's gut with significant force. Much like he had done at Lab. Five. "But you DO make an entertaining toy shrimp."

Ed's breath caught in his chest as Envys knee connected with his stomach...his vison went black but just for a second as he gasped for breath feeling his knees buckle underneath him. Eds face red from gasping for breath he wrapped his arms around his stomach to protect it from further attack.

"D-dont......call...me...SHRIMP!" Ed screamed then swung his foot around tripping Envy, but Ed had miscalculated the force of the move and Envy fell and landed on top of Ed.

The force knocking the wind out of him again.

The sin's eyes widened at the feeling of his legs going out from under him, but the expected impact with the floor was broken by something firm, but subtly softer. Envy peered down to find himself laying sprawled on top of Edward, and the close contact was more than he was prepared for.

This was NOT at all like when he had carried the boy over his shoulder from the lab. Ed had been unconscious then and only barely touching him, nothing at all like this full body plastering they were doing right now. Not that it felt, bad per say but it wasn't where he wanted to be! And the moment he started to get up, he could feel a certain solidness between his legs....which his brain registered as Ed's automail leg. Abruptly the sin threw his body backwards, glaring venomously at Ed as if the alchemist had deeply wounded him.

THAT..had felt..too strange.

Ed was at first too dizy to register what had just happen but then he felt it..the weight of another body pressing down on him...somthing automaticly stirred deep inside him...the feeling was unfamiliar...but not unpleasant. Eds eyes focased and he looked up directly into Envys face..his face was very close to his...not that it wasnt the first time...he had ever been this close to the sin, but there was somthing almost hypnotic about those deep pools of purple eyes.

Ed gasped as he felt Envy suddenly jerk up off of his chest...and saw the glare in those deep violet eyes.
Eds face blushed deep red and he quickly closed his eyes and shook his head.
"What?...arnt you going to kill me now?...isnt that what you want Envy?" Ed said a angry look returning to his face.

Envy scowled almost hatefully at Edward, his focus disturbed. His body was tingling faintly in certain area and it was distracting! He was starting to get very angry and in his anger he might actually hurt the little runt more than Father wanted.

Killing their precious human sacrifice was a big no-no according to Father, so to save himself from transgressing, Envy turned and darted up the stairs, tossing a half mocking, half furious, "Play time is over for now pipsqueak! Consider yourself lucky I spared your life!"

With that he was moving back out of the library in a burst of speed, trying to get outside where he could scale the building ledges and try to forget the way it felt to be pressed against the chibi.

Ed had never seen Envy so bothered...and leaving him without a scratch...no explanation. Ed frowned and jumped to his feet and started chasing after the sin.

"He looked scared" Ed pondered as he raced outside "If he is vulnerable...there might be a chance I can use that to my advantage."

Ed looked and saw Envy near the wall looking like he was about to scale it. Ed smirked.

"Whats the matter Envy.....father set a curfew for you?...if you dont make it home in time you going to turn into a pumpkin?...or worse...does that father spank when his homunculos are late??"

Ed began to laugh.

Envy jolted at the sound of Edward's voice, but what the chibi SAID! It was rare for the sin to feel outraged or embarrassed. Ed howevere had managed to do all of that with a few words. The very IDEA!

Pale cheeks turned a light pink as a burst of furious heat invaded them. Envy slowly turned to glare at Edward, long fingers curling into tight fists at his sides.

"What did you say midget?!"

"Oooh did I hit a soft spot?" Ed said grinning now...it was rare to get the sin riled...there was a small voice in the back of the Alchmist head that told him to stop...and that he was playing a dangerouse game.

"You heard me daddys boy!...bet he does more that spank too!....you better run along...dont want to make father mad!"

Ed readied himself...as Envy looked liked he was ready to explode.

Envy's left eye had developed a twitch in it by this point. Now that was down right rude! Insinuating that his Father would do such things! He rather doubted that Father even could anymore, having expelled Lust from himself...he was getting off focus again! Damn the chibi!

Envy snarled and flung himself into an attack, his right arm swinging in a blow that would surely break bones if it landed, but being enraged when attacking wasn't his usual style, and it made him sloppy.

This was what Ed had been waiting for and he was ready, Ed jumped up in the air then landed right behind Envy and slammed his metal fist right at the base of the sins spine.

Ed knew that whatever damage that he inflicted on Envy would not kill him, but if he could continue to wound him...it would slow the sin down and maybe Ed could finnaly get some answers.

The homunculus almost regretted attacking the moment he landed. His fist left a distinctive crater in the pavement but the feel of Ed's automail against his spine was a horrific burst of pain that eclipsed all else for a brief few seconds. His back arched and his head snapped backwards, a sharp cursing cry escaping him.

In a moment Envy was turning, lashing out with his right foot in a hard round house kick. He was moving even before the shuddering pain in his spine had fully healed, hoping to throw Edward back with the blow.

He let out an enraged, "Bastard!!"

"look whos talking!" Ed ducked barly missing the kick, then lunged from the ground, Ed had been aiming for the sins head but he missjudged and ended up grabbing Envy around his small waist and koncking him to the ground, this time the previouse postion was relived...except this time. Ed was on top of the breathless Envy sprawled on the ground.

Ed held on tightly to Envy trying to keep him pinned to the ground.

Envy snarled as the runt collided with his slender body, the force of the blow knocking them both over once again. He growled and spat and attempted to throw the other boy off, only to discover that ed was once again between his legs and firmly pressed there, and again his body was tingling in that strange way taht made him uncomfortable and caused heat to flood his cheeks.

He thrashed, glaring at Ed violently. "Get off me runt!"

Ed was enjoying this too much...seeing Envy helpless and under his control.
Envys flushing face made Eds bad day suddenly turn for the better.

"Come on Envy, I'm not letting you go untill I get some answeres." Ed said pressing himself harder onto Envy....Ed then noticed that somthing strange was nawing his insides...he couldnt put his finger on it, but he was really enjoying himself.

Answers, wasn't that his original purpose for being around the chibi alchemist? Gather information on him? Yet here he was, pinned down by said chibi, who was, rubbing on him! Ew ew ew!! Shrimp cooties! Envy made a disturbed expression and thrashed a little more, arching and bucking, only to find that made all the sensations ten times worse and abruptly went still on the ground, scowling furiously up at Edward, his violet eyes lit in rage.

"FINE...O-chibi-san...what do you want to know?" He practically hissed the words out, each syllable clipped and sharp.

Ed was taken aback by Envys response...all the questions...all the ones he had ever wanted to ask suddenly flew out of his head...he felt himself hypnotized by those violet eyes...what was it....there was somthing.

Ed felt himself drawn to those eyes...his face slowly lowering closer and closer to Envys blushing face.
Then in a whisper Ed spoke...his lips almost touching Envys...his breath hot and heavy.

"I want to know about you" Ed said then he let his lips fall lightly onto Envys.
Somthing inside Ed was screaming that something was terribly wrong...but that voice seemed so far away now.

Envy's eyes flew wide as soft lips descended on his own. He wasn't stupid when it came to sexual matters. But it was an area he left in the capable fingers of the Ultimate Lance as much as possible.

He struggled under Edward, slowly allowing his muscles to give up the fight and admit that all in all, it wasn't such a bad sensation. Ed's lips were smooth and warm against his own and the boy was being delicately gentle....maybe..

Envy suddenly snapped back to his..right..mind. Father would rip the stone from his body if he found out he was fraternizing like this! He did the only thing that came to mind and bit into Ed's lower lip hard, tasting the tang of blood on his tongue.

Ed gasped sucking in sharply and moaned. he had not expected that...but the day seemed full of surprises. it was if something had seized Fullmetals senses and he was acting on a deep seated passion he diddnt know exsisted.

Ed pulled away from Envy suddenly and before he knew what he was doing he raised his automail arm and struck Envy accross the face hard.

"Dont mess with me Envy!" Ed glared angrily wiping the blood from his lips ...not sitting directly on the sins middle..all of his weight pressing sharply on Envys sensitive parts.
