Montagne grabbed onto the rope beside him as another cannon ball burst made the ship rock. "RETURN FIRE YOU IDIOTS!" he snarled and charged forward. Where was David? The boy could stand his ground but he wasn't going to risk it. Desperately he looked around for his son, barking orders as he went.
David was below deck, trying to help with the cannons. He was struggling with the linstocks, trying to get one to everyone. His father would want him confined to quarters and many of the men would agree but he had to help somehow.

Captain Hawthorne smirked. He supposed The Immortal Rose wasn't so immortal after all.

Especially not with his spy, Elias Josephs, working below decks.

His smirk grew into a wide, manical grin. Montagne was practically his. He could practically imagine him struggling in irons, his clothing ripped. He imagined Montagne being totally dominated by his rival.

"Take Montagne alive! And remember, Josephs is our spy, so if you could refrain from hurting him, that would be brilliant."

His crew all laughed at that. On one hand, he was a sadistic cruel bastard, but on the other, he was the most affable sadistic cruel bastard you could ever hope to meet.

David finally made it back on deck only to see Hawthrone's ship. He froze until Montagne grabbed his shoulder. "Get into my quarters and lock the door! GO!" he yelled, relieved a bit that the cannons were finally firing. It would even the odds a bit. "PREPARE TO BE BOARDED!" he shouted, then drew his twin blades.
David ducked below the desk and sat down, sword in hand. He hated hiding but its what his father ordered so he obeyed. But god help whoever found him. To which he was praying fiercely to for the crew's safety.

Elias stood behind David, and nodded. "Yes sir."

Despite being a spy for Hawthorne, he was a brilliant, funny and altogether wonderful member of the Rose's crew.

And, truth be told, he found himself noticing Montagne a lot more than he should have.

He figured making friends with the captain's son would help his chances of getting noticed.

He was a handsome lad in his early 20s, with dark hair, and dark, myserious eyes.

David jumped at Elias's voice. He hadn't heard the man come in after him. "By the sea Elias!" he said, grabbing his chest to calm his heart. "You almost sent me to the Locker!" His father had already told him he shouldn't say things like that sense he couldn't shake his "gentleboy's tongue". It made him sound like a child at play.
Montagne growled as he faced off with two of Hawthorne's men. His sheer size made this and even match. The fact he was trained in two different types of combat made only their captain a true challenge for him. "HAWTHORNE!" he yelled as he cut one down. "SHOW YOUR FACE COWARD! LET'S END THIS LIKE MEN."

Hawthorne smirked, and stepped forward. "Very well. Stand down, men!"

He drew his sword. "Tell me something... Do you ever dream about me at night? My cold steel ripping through your soft flesh?" He licked his lips. "I do."

Montagne gave his men the signal to stand down. "Not exactly my idea of a dream," he said, pulling off his jacket and tossing it aside. "My dreams tend to be about wanton virgins and mounds of gold. What real men dream of."

Hawthorne removed his shirt. "Truely... Unfortunatly, now we must fight... Farewell, sweet prince."

The two captains locked blades.

Montagne smirked as he faced down Hawthorne.
David couldn't stand it. It was too quiet outside. He ran up to the door and peaked out. "What are you doing Captain?" he whispered, just barely seeing the two of them face off.

Elias stood behind David. "Master! Let them fight."

Both sides of him were ripping themselves apart.

On the one hand, he was working for Hawthorne, and knew if he died, someone worse would take over.

On the other hand, he was in love with Montagne.

David looked at him. "Master?" he said. "Where did that come from?" Last he check he and Elias where on the same level. David had never received any special treatment because he was Montagne's son. Hell no one knew he was Montagne's son except for a select few...or so he thought.

Elias blushed, and took David aside. "Look, I didn't want to say anything, but... I heard you and the captain talking, and I know you're his son... Please, I didn't mean to trespass."

David pulled away. "Still no reason to be callin me master," he said, rushing back to the door.

"I'm sorry, David." Elias said.

Back up on deck, Hawthorne was still locking blades with Montagne. "Don't worry, I'm not going to kill you, sweet prince. I just want to hear you scream my name."

David nodded. "Its fine," he said, attention completely on the fight.

Montagne pushed back. "Where is this prince nonsense coming from Hawthorne?" he growled. "Neither of us are that noble."

"It is simply my name for you, Montagne. Why? Do you not like it?" Hawthorne replied with a hint of sweet poison in his voice, pushing back.

When Montagne was distracted, two of Hawthorne's men ran past the dueling captains, grabbed David, and dragged him back to Hawthorne's ship.

Montagne smirked and shook his head, charging again. "I don't have a problem with it." When their blades locked he chuckled. "Just makes ya sound lonely, M'Lady." His crew chuckled at their captain's jest.

David of course tried to fight. When Elias didn't help, he growled at him. "Traitor," he snarled, then went to attack him. The men took the oppurtunity then to knock him unconcious. They wrapped him in a sheet and took him back to the ship.

"I'm sure you know, I am no lady. Perhaps you are projecting?" Hawthorne chuckled.

He kicked Montagne back. "Right, we have the boy, let's go." He shouted to the crew, who nodded, and sailed their ship away.

Montagne's eyes went wide. "AFTER THEM!" he yelled, going into the captain's quarters and looking around. When he spotted Elias unharmed his eyes went red with fury. Grabbing Elias's collar he had him against the wall with a sword to his neck. "Why didn't you defend him?!" he snarled like a mad dog.

"I... They... They were too strong, I couldn't find a weapon... I'm sorry, sir." Elias replied desperatly.

"Please... Don't kill me."

Montagne raised an eyebrow. "No weapon? You're in my quarters." He dragged him out to the deck. "I HAVE SWORDS HANGING ON THE WALLS!" he yelled as he threw Elias onto the ground. "You idiot...Tie him up to the mast." He turned and went back to his quarters as the crew obeyed.

Elias struggled against the ropes holding him. Eventually, he gave up, and relaxed. "Shit... I'm in it now..." He said to himself.

Montagne ignored him as they persued Hawthorne. Everyone on the ship was angered by David's capture. Afew were anvered enough that they would spit on Elias as they passed.

David awoke slowly, only to find himself tied and gagged.

Hawthorne was standing over David. "Hello, David. Don't worry, we know all about you. I know you're Montagne's son. And you're going to help me, aren't you?" He grinned, only it looked more like a grimace.

David looked up at him in shock. He growled through the gag and fought against the rope that had his hands behind his back. His eyes flared with defiance. There was no way he was helping him.

Hawthorne removed David's gag. "Leave me." He said to his two guards, who left the room. "So, tell me, David... Your father... What are his weaknesses?"

David spat in his face. "Rot in hell," he snarled.

Hawthorne wiped the spit off his face. "Well, I guess you should know something about me first, eh? My name is Hawthorne, My ship is the Graceful Dahlia, and I'm your dad's rival. Ok, tell me something about your dad."

David smirked. "They're going to kill you when they find me," he said, chukling almost manacially.

"I really wouldn't count on that. We've got someone working for us on the Rose." Hawthorne smirked. "And I really don't care what happens to him, so..."

David smirked a bit. "You mean Elias?" he said. "I wouldn't be to sure about that."

"What? How did you know?" Hawthorne gasped, geniuinly surprised.

David's smirk grew. "I wasn't sure until now," he said. "But I would doubt his loyalty if I were you. I've seen him many times giving my father wanton looks."

"God damn him!" Hawthorne growled. "Knew I should not have sent a wench to do a man's job..."

David stood and came up to him. "And where do your eyes wonder?" he purred before leaning into whisper in his ear. "Do you see only women?" He teasingly licked his ear.

"Well... No, but Josephs only sees men..." Hawthorne replied, for once in his life unsure.

David smirked and tempted his ear again. "Then he's in good fortune sense my father likes both," he said before licking his neck.

"Wha... What? Really?" Hawthorne replied, hopefully.

David smirked and nipped his ear. "You however aren't his type," he said, pressing against him.

"Oh... Disapointing." Hawthorned sighed. "I'm sorry... I just..."
