Bittersweet Occurence (For Jani)
 

Sheer was kneeling in the middle of the town square of the nearby society of humans and other semi-magical beings. His pale blue skin easily marked him different and his dark purple hair made him look almost feminine, if it weren't for the fiery collar bound magically to his neck, he'd kill them all. It'd been only a day since he'd been attacked and kidnapped from the glacier plains, the home of him and his people, he was just under five feet tall making him quite short, his eyes a frost blue, his lips a light navy. He was being sold as a slave, bound permanently to the collar of fire on him, if he disobeyed, a single word would make the collar shrink, burning easily through his low temperature flesh and killing him. Though his kind were incredibly rare, maybe ten left alive in the whole world, their unique magic allowing the ice to remain frozen and prevent a cataclysmic flood, so he doubted they'd go to such an extent.

Jani, a rather tall and handsome vampire was walking into the town square as he saw the "pets" as they were called. He walked up to them to get a closer look, paying most of his attention twords Sheer. He turned to face the man selling them with a sinister grin. "You there. How much for this one?" He asked, pointing to Sheer.

"Hehehe, that one's a magnificent specimen, very few of them are alive, so I'd think thirty thousand is modest" The salesman said, the price probably quadruple that of a normal slave but he did have a honest point

"Rare species you say? Well for $30,000 one can't go wrong." Jani said, smirking as he pulled out his wallet. "Before I buy him tell me, will I have a problem training him?"

The man grinned, "See that collar? that's a flame collar, he's a ice faerie, simply say a word and it'll kill him, though there is a issue that his kind are very important, but he seems to of lightened up to us, besides, the collar has several abilities" He said putting his hand on Sheer's shoulder, suddenly ice grew on his arm, he screamed and pulled away, his entire arm frozen solid by the boy and he gritted his teeth, "Allow me to demonstrate, Torment!" he commanded and Sheer let out a cry of agony as the collar electrocuted him, collapsing to his side as he writhed in pain

Jani watched with a sadistic smirk. "I'll take him. Besides if he misbehaves I have my ways of dealing with it." He said as he paid the man before looking to Sheer. "Get up!" He barked at him. "I have places to go and I don't wish to waste time by having to drag your ass with me."

The man nodded and handed him a list, "Those are the words and what they do to him" he said, the list had only a few words

- Torment - Sends body into unbearable pain for hours
- Blaze - Causes the collar to heat his body, putting him in a state of paralysis
- Extinguish - The collar will kill him
- Release - Free's the occupant from the collar permanently, WARNING, Only extremely dangerous slaves are bound with such a collar and release could result in a horrible aftermath, it is highly encouraged to never release your slave from the collar.

Sheer, was writhing on the ground still from the collars pain on him, unable to do anything as the collar continued to hurt him

Jani looked at the list, pocketing it as he picked Sheer up and placed him over his shoulder. "Thanks for the list. Might need them with this boy." He said with a chuckle. "Now we have errands to run." He said as he walked twords the shopping area.

Sheer was in too much pain to properly control his magic, his body completely unresponsive as he began crying from the pain

'That man was a bit too rough on him. Now how the fuck am I gonna carry everything while he's like this?' Jani thought to himself as he kept a firm arm around Sheer. "Can you hear me boy? Say something or just twitch if you can."

Sheer could easily hear and understand the man, but couldn't move, the electricity's after effect being his muscles completely softened, leaving him immobile

"Sheer was it? I'm Jani, your new master. And I'm not a prick like that guy I bought you from either." Jani said, stopping for a sec to place Sheer onto a nearby bench.

Sheer easily slumped over onto his side again, the mans words held no meaning, Sheer wished he could properly control his magic to rid himself of the fool

"Do you not know how to talk? Maybe your a mute?" Jani asked, pulling Sheer's face to look at his.

Sheer wished more then ever he could make the man regret his words, the closest to a muscle that could listen to him was his eyes which traced the man with a glare

"That's a no then. Whats wrong? Haven't you ever seen a vampire before?" Jani asked, watching Sheer's glare with his own. "If your gonna live with me there are certain rules you must obey."

Sheer finally felt some of the muscles in his body begin to respond, his fingers twitching

"You will have chores to do. That also goes along with going to get my blood. So I am gonna tell you this once, if your gonna talk to me refer to me as master understand me boy?" Jani asked, glaring into Sheer's eyes with a sadistic look.

Sheer felt a tinge inside him as his muscles further advanced, he could feel his magical abilities stabilizing, 'Another minute and your dead' he thought

Jani turned his back on the boy, smirking sadistically. "I know what your thinking boy. Just know you can't kill what is already dead. So I suggest you behave yourself before I punish you. And I don't need some stupid magical collar to do so either."

Sheer felt the challenge worthy, being isolated most of his life lead him to a belief of superiority, he managed to move his hand flat against the bench, in the blink of an eye several razor sharp spears of ice jetted towards the vampire

Jani chuckled as he quickly dodged the attack, standing behind Sheer. "Quite impressive boy. I should warn you though, I'm rather quick too." He said, gripping Sheer's neck tightly. "Do that again and I will kill you with my bare hands you understand me?"

Sheer's eyes widened, he'd never seen something move so fast, but the vampire had made a dire mistake, Sheer's body instantly encased in a magical ice, also trapping the mans hand, simultaneously the ice began to drain the vampires super-human abilities, quickly weakening him as the ice formed both a perfect defense and could easily be made a weapon

Jani growled as he saw what Sheer was doing, regretfully thinking something to say. "I'm sorry Sheer." He said, punching the boy in the face. "Torment."

At the electrical current sent through him the ice instantly shattered, his body quivering as it recieved another dose of the pain

Jani picked Sheer up, placing him over his shoulder. "We need to work on your obedience boy. If your gonna attack me like that maybe I should just restrain you?"

Sheer's body was completely limp, the pain was excruciating, as if he were being skinned and stabbed, he couldn't help but begin to cry, his tears freezing against his skin

Jani heard the boys crying and sighed. "It was not my intention to hurt you boy. You attacked me first so I just reacted is all." He said as he carried Sheer to the store.

Sheer finally blacked out from pain, the collar glowed a moment and he shuddered, being forced awake again by a sudden heat that even Jani could feel

Jani felt the collar growing warm, panicking a bit. "Release!" He shouted, not wishing the boy to go through any further harm.

The collar seemed to instantly grow cool, then it simply crumbled to dust, a scar circling Sheer's neck, the boy finally felt all the pain stop and his neck finally feel released, but all he could do was pass out again, his body exhausted from the pains and horrific experience

"Fuck the stores, we're heading home so you can rest." Jani said as he turned around and quickly ran to his mansion. (Think Transylvania but more Resident Evilish.)

Sheer remained unconscious the whole way, his body forming a thin frost to help regenerate the damage to his neck

Jani made his way into his mansion, walking up to one of the spare beds and laying Sheer in it. "Rest boy. I don't wish to deal with a weakling right now."

Sheer's body instinctively began to cover itself in magical ice, both for protection and to heal as Jani could see the wound on his neck begin healing before it too covered in ice

"A self healer. That's handy to have around here. I should keep a close eye on him though." Jani said, taking a seat in a nearby chair.

Sheer slept for a very long time, the hours fading into two days as his body regenerated

Jani stayed by the boy for those two days as he rested, making sure he was ok. He only left to get himself blood and to use the bathroom.

Finally Sheer's body began to release from the ice, it melting into the bed revealing him in absolute pristine condition, not even a hint that there was once a scar around his neck

"I should see if he's hungry. I don't wish for him to starve." Jani said as he waited for Sheer to fully awaken from his sleep.
