I have an important question (for me it is important ^_^)
So many pic's were deleted... but why? I can't see a point of doing this o_O
Please answer me ...

at least i kinda revived 2 pics...
and posted 1 new pic.
the 2 were megaman pics, the other one is from digimon ; - )

lol. It's all written in the admin sections, only Cross-chan probably can't read it because she's got me on her block list and doesn't see my posts~

Don't tell her, I'll just answer the point here - and don't quote/reply to my posts please. I'm trying to ghost.

Pics havn't been deleted, its just that a great many users seem to have uploaded shit-loads of images into the "Please choose a gallery to upload to" gallery. Obviously this was a loophole and that gallery was not supposed to be open to uploads.

-___- Total amount of images put in there passed 1500 before I spotted and closed it.

Since the folder is invisible and unlinked that means more than a gigabyte of server space (hundreds of dollars worth) went into this black-hole. The webmaster and I have been trying to drag them out of there and the server is processing the move. Only it appears to have stopped. With a good hard kick it'll finish the move and the pics will become visible again. They're not deleted so for the love of everything don't start uploading them again.

Oh thank god. I was a tad bit worried, I thought we'd lost all those good pics. Thank you, my faith is restored! :)

I'mma let the webmaster know that its still not finished. He clearly needs to run the process again, it was only supposed to take four hours, not four days -__-.

Well I look forward to viewing my favorites and pictures again hopefully sooner rather than later.

Yesterday one of my pictures (out of about 23) was still on the database - Today even thats gone! I sincerely hope the hundreds of missing pictures will be returned to us one day soon.

Yea, I would wait, give the mods a break, so they don't have to go and try to save your pics while everything else is going to hell.

I certainly do hope they come back soon. I miss them.

I uploaded a lot of pictures today, and am sure i put them in a category. Will those show up? :) ty

This reply to a question I sent to the yaoiai staff about missing images makes me unhappy! Have the missing images really gone?

My question was - What has happened to my images? I get ' Not found in database ' when I look for my submitted pictures.

Their reply was :-

If the picture is "not found in the database" it means it was deleted. Becasue of this we cannot tell you why it is gone or who deleted it.

Whats really happening???

noticed there is a max of 3 in a lot of the galleries. Should i stop uploading till this is fixed. you mods are awesome. and love the site.

Sent another PM to the webmaster, but I think he's still on his laptop working from location and can't log into the server until he gets home.
I'm ambivilent if I should cross my fingers he gets home soon, 'cos that presumably means his contract has finished and he's unemployed~

So how much longer do you think it will take for all of the missing pics to come back? Every single pic I used to like is gone... I'm really dissapointed...

At this point, I'm 99% sure we'll have to restore the server backup of the galleries from two weeks ago. This whole process is farcical and the webmaster is still seemingly out of communication.

It really was only supposed to take 4 hours. -___-

Okies,

Some 1555 pictures now available and rescued from the black-hole. There's a lot there you may not actually have seen before. There's a lot there most people won't even know existed.

BUT It seems a few got lost. I'm going on an orgy of Gallery Creation and I'll do what I can with the sorting... but even I can't do 1555 images quickly and I'm working more-or-less alone to do it [Gasps for breath].

A lot of pics are going to appear missing, some might actually BE missing, its kinda impossible to tell from the server side according to our webmaster.

So, don't upload anything old unless you are certain it is gone by checking below~


---TECHNICAL BIT---
If you want to check what pictures you've uploaded, the User Galleries Function now works as it should. Use this address:

http://yaoiai.com/gallery/showgaller...at=500&ppuser=XXXX

Replacing the XXXX with your user number. That ought to be easy enough to work out. That lets you view all your pics, if any you remember uploading (Or think you ought to have) that aren't in your user gallery are sadly gone. THOSE you can reupload.

Thanks for getting everything worked out - I really appreciate all that you guys have done. I did check my gallery and noticed a lot of them are not there so I guess the black hole liked them so much it decided to keep them, lol. Thats ok - I'm quite a thorough fangirl and saved pretty much all my pics for just such an event as this, hehe ;)

Start posting 'em. I've finished going through the pics, 1500 of them -__- Only took 6 hours~

Hope the new gallery layout works for you all - and I hope that one lazy sod that uploaded 700 pics with no title, no description and no keywords got 700 eMails.

This is good news and thank-you for the work you've put into it.

However, it doesn't appear that any of my uploaded pictures have been restored yet. I don't quite understand how they disappeared into limbo in the first place as I have always been careful to upload pictures into a specific, and hopefully correct, gallery.

Its great that the system is now restored but none of mine pics have been came back why only mine?:mad:

In regards to the galleries being fixed....I love you. But don't panic, I'm sure everyone will repost there pics. ( At least I hope. )

Yeah, those pics that are gone, I'm afraid are gone. Damage was done to a few galleries in non-residents. Please repost them if you can~
