Sweet Delights (with Amethystaura)
 

The sounds of the quiet wind blowing through the hallways, the sound of fingers tapping against some keys on a laptop inside of the Headquarters. People dropping dead left and right with no leads nor whereabouts on this killer named Kira or this dangerous Death Note. The only three people that was in the main room was Watari, who was already sleeping in another room (you know.. old people and yeah, they need their beauty rest for being.. well old.) Detective L (Lawist) aka the world-renowned Detective and high school Light Yagami.

Those black eyes staring blankly at the screen slicing a small piece of his cake and then eats it quietly pushing the box of chocolate cookies towards Yagami offering him some.

Light crossed his arms over his chest, leaned back in his chair and sighed. He didn't particularly have a sweet tooth, but he'd been working non-stop for the past 7 hours and he needed a snack. The closest thing at hand was what L was offering him.

He turned his head and carefully regarded L, then with a small smile, reached out and picked up a coconut and chocolate chip cookie. The box had chocolate cookies with other flavours, and Light figured L would pick something like chocolate with honey or chocolate with strawberry.

"Haven't you ever wondered, Ryuzaki? For you sweets are a fuel, whereas for me they're a last resort for a desperate snack. I'm taking a break, I'm off to get some real food. Where's the savoury stuff kept?"

He lazily tapped a few keys on his keyboard, and stretched out his legs.

When Light finally took L's offering, those dull black orbs traced away from the screen and onto the teenager for a brief moment before drawing them back to screen quietly eating his cake finishing it upon leaving just the strawberry left.

"...I always wonder about that topic, Light-san. Unfortunately, youth today just can't handle their sweets like I can. And to answer that question.. you're better on just making a reservation to a restaurant here in Tokyo. Or snack on this sweets for now."

L slowly picks up the strawberry by the leaf dipping it into some smooth chocolate fudge sticking out his tongue as it snakes against the fudge around the strawberry making a few odd noises like moaning savoring that taste making a small trail of saliva connecting from his tongue to the tip.

Knowing that Light was just few feet away from him and watching too? It didn't matter for L.

Light gulped and got to his feet.

"Ryuzaki, I'm aware that today's youth can't handle the sugar rush, but it's time you also expanded your borders. Come one, I'm taking you a small restaurant here in Tokyo. You can sit the way you like.""

The blacked haired man didn't response blinking slowly before turning his attention to the highschooler giving him a moment to think. Just then, L gets off the chair slipping his hands into his pockets having that slight hunch to the back walking up to Light.

"...Lead the way, Yagami."

Light sighed in relief. It felt good to be getting out of the headquarters for once.

"Come on then. We have the rest of the afternoon off, so let's go somewhere new."

He hailed a taxi. The driver slowed down, staring suspiciously at the odd man next to the handsome teenager.

"Where can I take you?"

"The Sakura Garden, please," Light smiled. The driver nodded, and then Light held the door open for the detective to get in before him.

The two left the headquarters as Light signaled for a taxi cab coming to a stop.

The driver had this weird out look on by the pale, barefooted looking man with a highschooler boy hearing what they said and gets in moving to the far left sitting in that position.

Light couldn't help but observe L out of the corner of his eye closely. The odd way in which he sat, the way he chewed his thumb, the way he stared straight ahead. The taxi continued moving.

"...Yagami. If you want to ask me something. Just say it. I know your staring at me." L plainly said turning his head to the brunette leaning very very close too on waiting for his answer.

Light frowned and blinked.

"Erm, nothing really, Ryuzaki. Was wondering when you last went out to eat somewhere..."

"The last time I went out to eat was to the Sweets and Bake. The best dessert and pastries you'll ever had..." Ryuzaki answered back to staring forward.

There was a hint of a thick blush appearing across the man's cheeks. A very first.

"Ah, that's interesting," Light remarked, as the taxi slowed down in front of the restaurant. "I guess it's the first time you've come out with a friend, in that case. Some would call this a date." He shrugged, smiled and paid the taxi fare.

"A date.? Why not." Feeling the taxi going into a stop and gets out. Just then, it hit him to what Light said blinking in shock. 'A date...?'

Light chuckled as he led the dark haired man inside.

"Think of it as you will. Me? I'm not too concerned with definitions and boundaries. The food here is nice, that's it."

The duo enters the restaurant with a waiter there addressing them and guides to an empty booth handling some menus too. L in the position was holding the menu using his thumbs and index finger scanning the pages.

Light chuckled.

"I've brought a lot of my dates here in the past, and I know what I like. A nice pork pie with barbecue sauce. Have you settled on something?"

Everything on the menu looks good but L has been eating nothing but sweets, the taste would be nasty. However, it's a try. "..I'm not sure.." The blacked haired said looking down showing off his emotion for a first.

"No worries," Light said smoothly. "I've ordered for my dates before."

He called the waiter, placed his own order, and ordered chicken in honey barbecue sauce for the detective. The dish was both sweet & savoury.

"Also, please give the handsome young man a Sakura Fountain drink. With extra sugar & ice."

Setting the menu on the table hearing Light placed their order thinking about that chicken in honey barbecue sauce. Will it taste very sweet? Sour? Gulping to the thought resting his chin on his hands that was laying on top of his knees pants.

Light was closely studying the other man, and smiled.

"Hey, just relax. It's lunch, not an interview. Though of course you'd ace any interview. And don't worry, I think you'll like what I ordered for you."

The waiter came carrying the detective's drink, a Sakura Fountain, with extra sugar and ice. It was a colourful and pretty drink.

L didn't answer back just looking over at the wall like a zombie. When the waiter came back with his drink, those black eyes scanned down to the glass for a whlie picking up the straw, ripping the paper pulling it off and puts the straw inside the drink.

Leaning close as he took a slip from it admitting that it was very sweet pulling away.

Light sighed when the detective remained silent, but chuckled when he saw the other sipping the drink curiously.

"Isn't my choice perfect?" he teased.

L's cheeks just went into color but he had this very cute smile on his face. This was the only and first time that this detective ever had fun nodding to Light.

Light couldn't help but notice the cute blush on L's pale features, and smirked to himself. He'd managed to rile up the detective?

He leaned back in his chair. At that moment, a waitress came up to their table and asked if they'd already placed their order. Light turned on his charm.

"Yes indeed, we were so hungry that we ordered right away. But we will ask for you if need anything else, thank you...." He peered at her name badge on her breast. "...Sally?"

The waitress blushed at his charm.

Taking the straw and spins it around slipping more as it goes halfway pulling away.

His eyes didn't fix up hearing the waitress ask and something but he did when Light had that charm on the young woman. Hmm....

L just looks down waiting for their food.

"Right away, sir, call me when you need me." Sally smiled at him and walked away.

Light leaned forward, resting his elbows on the table.

"You know, there are a lot of nice places in Tokyo where you can have a good meal without being disturbed. You could come out with me more often. An outing clears up one's head."

"...Really now.." L said in that plain voice again keeping his head down like always, his stomach was rumbling from the lack of something inside. Like sweets, pies, candy, cake... maybe he can order some cake to go.

Light tilted his head to one side, smirking at the monotone voice.

"Hungry aren't you? Would you like to order some cake?"

"Do they have strawberry shortcake? Coffee cake? Yellow cake with chocolate frosting?" L asked already near the brunette with those demented eyes waiting for an answer.

Light eased back a little, but couldn't help smiling.

The waiter soon brought their delicious honey pork and chicken, with extra honey.

"Thank you so much," Light said to him. "Do you have any fruit shortcake, or a coffee cake, or something? The gentleman opposite me would like a slice to go with the chicken."

The waiter nodded politely. "This week we have a new special. Strawberry Lemon Cappucino Cake. I'll get a slice immediately."

Strawberry Lemon Cappuccino Cake? Just imaging the image of that cake, no. 5 of them or 10 around him. He was daydreaming so much that he couldn't help but start munching on the chicken having that cute look on his face having his blush reappears again.

"...Sweet~ and tangy....~"

Light couldn't help but wonder about how adorable the detective looked. He had to admit it. L was adorable.

"Told you you'd like the chicken," he smiled. He himself was famished & started eating his pork pie. "Hmmm, this is good too. I want to pack some & take it to headquarters for my dad later.'

L kept eating liking the honey coating and the sugary drink sighing in reilef.

"...Sweet... Thank you for the time to.. take me upon this.. 'Date' thing." The black haired said keeping that smile.

"Like I said," Light shrugged with a smile, "I refuse to be limited by definitions, so call this a date if you want."

As they'd both nearly finished their main courses, the waitress Sally came bearing a large slice of the cake. There was a layer of strawberry shortbread with bits of strawberries, a second yellow layer with candied lemon peel, and it had overall cappuccino cream.

"Your dessert," she said flirtatiously to Light. He just smiled.

"Thank you Sally, it's actually for my friend here. I'll just have a tea to finish off my meal."

L had just finished the chicken swallowing that last piece and sipping that the drink finishing it too. Picking up the napkin wiping that dirty cheeks setting it neatly aside.

But... those eyes had that sparkle and happiness seeing this wonderful thing. Layers of soft sponge sweetness and frosting picking the plate the plate and that fork using that thumb and index finger to hold it cutting a piece and eats while leaning against Light.

Light stiffened when he felt that slim body leaning against him. He watched the delight on the other's face as he ate. It felt strange, but Light really loved it. For some reason.

"Can I have a taste?" He asked gently.

Pouting for a bit but offers a nice looking piece to the brunette holding the plate still.

L then picks up one of the strawberry licking the frosting off first and eats it slowly.

Light leaned forward & too the cake piece in his mouth, his eyes still on L's lips.

L had this smile on still watching Light eats the slice taking another bite too having frosting on the corner of the lips.

Light reached out a thumb absently & wiped a bit of cappuccino cream from L's mouth & then licked his own thumb.
