♥The silent heart beat♥

They say if you stand in the rain for long, it will wash away all the pain. But does it really do that or just mask it from the world. So that no one can see the tears rolling down their faces? Just outside of a rock music club called 'Gray Cloud 9' in the big apple of New york. Was a young Asian male, sitting on a concrete planter. Letting his body getting soak from the droplets pouring from the sky. He was listening to the music playing from the inside of the club. Tapping his foot against the ground. Lightly slapping his hand to the leg. He loved coming here every night. Who was this man? His name is Razi Grove. He was what you call 'abnormal'.

For starters, he was tall. Standing at 6'4", but had a face that of a child. His skin was really dark with a vine tattoo on his left arm. Short black spiky hair. The oddest thing about him was that his ear were a bit pointy. Wearing clothes fitted for the summer when it was the middle of fall. A white T shirt, tan vest and dark brown shorts with flip-flops to complete the look. Another thing that stands out was the gold medallion around his neck with an eye on it. With a blue flower around it. From the looks alone, you could say that he wasn't quite human looking...and you be right. For he not from this world. Razi, was a dark elf.

Not to be confuse with the evil ones. From he is from. Dark elves live in forest like areas. Growing food and were well known for their alcohol. So why is someone like him doing in the human world? Well...let's just say that he didn't belong in his village and his world. He wanted to find a place of his own. Hearing tales from outside his home of the Earth. He grew more and more interested in their world and life styles. So he went to a mage and made his way.

It's been half a year since then. Many good and bad things had happen, but he doesn't let that get in the way. There was only one thing that stand in is way of having a normal life here. Just as he stretched his legs out. He made someone trip by accident. He stood up and help the man up. The man started you yelled and was getting angry. He wanted the young lad to apologize to him for his rudeness. As much as he wanted to. No words came out of his mouth. For you see, he had no voice of his own. He was mute.

((If anyone is interested. Post.))

((Mind if I do? ;D))

So many faces, the music playing so loud, blasting through the speakers inside of the club. It was getting rather hot in there between all the people, who were going crazy to the music. A male, around 5'9" was starting to wonder why he'd even came along to this place with his friends. Not that he disliked the music or anything... Just the people. Alex Renal did like people, just not when they were like this. This meaning, mostly drunk and not paying attention to the other people around there, too busy sticking themselves to the first good-looking person they saw. Alright, maybe that was a bit over the top, but it wasn't too far from it.

Running his hand through his messy blond bangs, he made his way over to see how his friends were doing, but when he couldn't find them, he just grabbed his coat. His steel blue eyes skimmed through the people one last time before he exited the place, blinking as he felt the raindrops hit his skin.

People would say he was crazy or something, but he loved rain. For some reason, the male just loved going outside when it was raining and just sit there, thinking. Which is what he planned on doing now. He sat down on the ground, not caring about his jeans or his deep green shirt getting wet like most would. Though he opened his eyes and frowned as some guy started yelling at someone for tripping him, probably on accident though.

"Hey, you!" He called at the man. "Leave him alone, it was an accident." Alex stated, ready to defend a complete stranger and he didn't even know if it had really been an accident.

Kaido October 5th, 10 11:10 PM

((No not at all X3))

Fearing that this would lead bad to worse. He heard another voice call out and looked at the stranger that was standing up to him. He felt well shock actually. Mostly people minded their own business when it came to him. Mostly because people though he was strange.

The must angry man looked at Alex with burning flames in his eyes. "Even so he should say sorry. This no good punk." he said sounding a bit odd. You could tell that the man had one to many drinks for the night. "Besides mind your own business." he growled and went back to looking at Razi. Who looked a little frighten. "So...how are you willing to make this up to me?" he asked. "Since you are not saying sorry. I know" He quickly gripped his wrist. "How's about you and me go somewhere and you and I get it on?" he said and was starting to chuckle.

Even though he was tall, he was no fighter. Her was squirming and wiggling around. Trying to pull him away. Then he looks at the blond hair man and lipped out "Help me." With sadness and desperation on his face. Soon changing to pain when he felt the drunktard squeeze harder.

((^^))

Even if he was a bit surprised the tall male didn't say a word, he didn't back down when the man looked at him, seemingly rather angry and very drunk. Well, either the guy was so scared he couldn't speak or could he be mute? He would have to ask that later maybe.

He sighed softly, people and liquor were such a bad combination. "Well, how about I make this my business then." He stated and stepped in between them both, crossing his arms over his chest and hoping he could try to be either smarter or stronger than the drunk man. Otherwise he'd have a problem.

"I hate people like you." He said to the man before kneeing him in the stomach, (hopingly) making him fall down to the ground and let go of the male's wrist. "Are you alright?" He asked as he turned to the still standing man who was dressed rather odd for this season.

Kaido October 6th, 10 05:47 AM

Once the man had fell tot he ground. He let go of Razi and fell to his knees. Wrapping his arms around his stomach and groaned with pain. The tall dark skin man took a few steps back. Just in case the drunk were to try to grab him again. Then he looked at Alex, with a relief look on his face. For someone actually came to his aid and not looked away. "Hey man. I don't want any trouble. I'm sorry. I'm sorry." man said. Jusr before he stood up and ran for his life.

Once he had left. The dark elf stood in front of him and he looked really happy. Smiling and he lowered his head a little. Then he made a hand gesture to give him a moment. Digging in his right side pocket. He pulled out a little green notepad with a pencil in the little rings. He took it out and opened the pad. It took a moment, before showing the shorter man what he had wrote. "Thank you very much for helping me. I am in your debt." he had wrote. Still smiling.

DragonSky October 6th, 10 11:13 AM

Alex couldn't really help but sigh in relief as the man fled away since he wouldn't have know what to do if he got up and lunged at one of them. He watched the other male curiously as he took out a notepad and started writing something down.

"Ah, no problem really." Alex said with a small smile, wiping the wet strands of hair out of his face for it was still raining. "I'm guessing you're mute then, right?" He asked since he still hadn't heard a voice coming out of his throat. He couldn't help but feel sorry for him. He couldn't imagine what it would be like to never be able to voice your thoughts with your own voice.

Kaido October 6th, 10 03:29 PM

Even before he helped him. He was feeling strange after looking at him. His heart was beating a little faster and felt really hot. Even when it was wet and cold outside. He couldn't understand what's with this feeling. But for now he'll ignore it. Thinking that it was his blood pumping from when the guy grabbed him.

When Alex asked about not speaking. A sad smile appeared and starts writing in his notepad once again. "Sadly yes." he wrote and showed him. With the small smile on his face. You can see in his eyes that it being mute really bothers him. It looked like one of his family members had passed away expression on his face.

But it went away, for he didn't want to let him feel bad for him. So he quickly writes again. "Well thanks again. You are actually the first person to help me out since I arrived to this village." he wrote. Not thinking that writing the word village was weird when it was actually a city. "My name is Razi Grove. What's yours?" he asked with this time a cheerful smile.

DragonSky October 6th, 10 04:26 PM

"Ah, I'm sorry, I can only guess how hard it must be." He said, giving him a weak smile, not really sure what to say to cheer the other up. He wasn't really good in that sort of things and well, he'd never actually spoke to a mute person.. Or well, seen anyone talk to someone like that...

He smiled lightly. "You're welcome, I know it's hard to find nice people around here, but they're here.. if you look hard enough for them." Alex said softly, a bit confused by him calling New York a village, but he shrugged it off as him coming from the country. "Alex, my name's Alex Renal, nice to meet you." He said with a bright smile. "Where did you come from then?" He asked a bit curious.

Kaido October 6th, 10 04:48 PM

So the new person he had met was named Alex Renal. Razi smiled and was glad to know the name of his savior. But it didn't last long for when he asked him where he is from. How was he suppose to explain to him that he was from a different world. Thinking of what to say. He wrote down the only thing that popped into his head. "Let's just say I'm from far away." he wrote down with a smile on his face. But his body was so tense.

Then he flipped to a new page into his notepad. "So is there a festival going on today? I heard all different kinds of music and had saw people dancing in the cloud building. Is it a holiday or is it a noble getting married?" he wrote. Not knowing that he was in a clubbing area of the city. Sure he has been in this world for a couple of years, but when it came to some of the customs, he was a bit out of place.

DragonSky October 6th, 10 06:04 PM

Alex blinked as the person seemingly didn't want to tell where he was from. Maybe it was just weird telling that to someone they'd just met there. perhaps he could ask again some time later.

He blinked as the male asked if there was a festival or something like that. "No, there's no festival or marrige. These are clubs, they always play music and have people dancing in them, when people are going out." He explained.

"Lexy! There are youuu!" A clearly drunk boy, around 6', called at Alex and slung an arm over his shoulder. "Ugh, get off, you smell like beer." The blond stated with a grimace, pushing him away. "You should go home." "Aww, but-" He was cut off by Alex glaring at him. "Finefein." He slurred before wandering away, making the other sigh. "And well, people get drunk every day, like that."

Kaido October 6th, 10 06:13 PM

Alex might of thought that the tall dark skin lad couldn't get any stranger, something else odd happened. He felt pretty stupid and thought that Alex might think that he is weird. He blushed. You may think that like a normal person his face would turn red, but actually, his cheeks turned purple. Like he was choking on something. It was actually normal to him since that's how it worked in his home land. But he didn't know that it was different with humans. When coming to this world. He thought that things would be the same.

Then he saw one of the blond's friends come up to him and he was acting like the guy from before. When hearing that people get drunk like his friend was. He was starting to wonder if humans couldn't handle alcohol well. There were humans from where he is from, but he never saw them when growing up. "I see. So people here like to party a lot." he wrote and showed to him. Then his face turned even more purple and looked a little quickly write again. "I hope I am not keeping you from anything. I so sorry."

DragonSky October 6th, 10 06:45 PM

Alex raised a brow as the guy seemingly turned purple, but he wasn't sure since he was supposed to wear glasses and he didn't have them with him right now. So for now he just blamed it on his poor eye sight.

The blond nodded. "Unfortunatly." He muttered, not too fond of people getting drunk in the too small clubs and alleys. "You're not, really." Alex said with a smile. "I'm happy to be talking to someone that's not drunk unlike the others aroudn here and someone that's not trying to rape me." He said with a small wink.

Kaido October 6th, 10 08:10 PM

Razi smiled and looked as if he was laughing. For he was happy that he wasn't getting in the way of anything for him. That and he was really having fun talking to him. Even if he had no voice. "Well I was about to grab something to eat. Would you like to come. As a way to repay you for helping me earlier." he wrote down and showed it to him.

bindedchain13 October 6th, 10 11:55 PM

Alex stared at Razi. Razi knew nothing of this times customs but ALex didnt know that. "Um no... its just a bar blasting its music." Alex Stated. Razi wrote down, "Bar???? like a stick or pole???" and shows Alex, "umm no. a place where people hang out and dance for a long time." it was rly awkward for Alex to be explaining what a "bar" was. Razi wrote down on the pad "im sorry. im from the country and i dont know much about... this village." again Alex was puzzled as to why the raven haired man kept saying(or wrighting) village. "ummm ok? well can i ask u something?" Alex asked. Razi nodded, "WEll why do u keep writing Village. its kinda.... weird." a slight blush flew across Razi's face.

DragonSky October 7th, 10 03:00 PM

Alex smiled as he found it rather nice to be talking to Razi. Even if he couldn't really talk, but you get the point.. "Alright." He said with a small nod. "I really enyoy talking with you and it'll get us out of the rain before we get sick." He said with a slight chuckle eventhough he didn't get sick easily, the other might.. You never know.. "Where did you wanna go get some food?" He asked with a friendly smile, deciding no to bother with his friends who where still in the club, they probably hadn't even noticed he left.

Kaido October 7th, 10 03:24 PM

Razi took a moment to think of where they should go to eat. Of course he didn't want to take to long to think. He didn't want to make him wait forever in a day then he remember hearing about a place near by. "I heard that there was a good grill place around here." he wrote. With a smile on his face. He was enjoying his time with Alex. He felt his heart beat even faster. Not fully understanding why.

DragonSky October 7th, 10 04:03 PM

Alex nodded. "Okay, sounds good." He smiled, still somewhat curious about the strange Razi, but he was nice and that was atleast one thing, right? "Hey, just wondering, but how old are you?" The blond asked, tilting his head to the side as he watched him, not really able to stick an age to the male, but then again he was never good at that...

Kaido October 7th, 10 04:50 PM

His smile grew wider when he agreed to come with him to the grill. "Great! It's not far from here. It's just a few buildings down the street." he wrote. On that note. Razi leads Alex to the the grill restaurant. As they make their way there. He kept looking at him from the corner of his yellow color eyes. Thoughts about him were running through his mind. That this guy must have many friends, and maybe even a lucky someone. Yet when that thought hit him. It made him feel sad for some reason. When he was asked about his age. He fully looked at him. Writing down his age. "19. You?" he asked. Tilting his head to the side and looking like a curious child.

DragonSky October 7th, 10 05:50 PM

Alex smiled lightly, happy he could make the guy smile and let him lead him to the restaurant. He let out a soft sigh, trying to remember the last time he'd actually gone out to eat like this. Hell, he couldn't even remember... That was probably a bad thing. He bit his lip lightly, looking at the other and wanting to ask him why he was so quiet, but remembering he couldn't even talk before he opened his mouth. Damn, it was such a habit...

"18, well, almost 19 next month." He said with a small smile.

Kaido October 7th, 10 06:08 PM

Hearing that he was a little younger then him was actually a shocker. But then again. It was hard to tell these human's ages. Since they have skin care products or have surgery to change there appearances. Which he didn't understand that. For elders were most respected people in his home world. But here it the younger looking people. Witch confused him the most.

Soon both Alex and Razi arrived to the grill restaurant he had mention. It had a simple name, 'Flame'. He opened the door and let the younger blond man in. Smiling with delight. Inside was low lighting and you could smell the meats that were cooking. It had a rustic felling to it and old pictures on the wall. Of the place opening and some people who came to it.There were also many different objects hanging on the wall. From sports flags to a bull skull. Razi was looking around with such amusement. Like he had never been to a place like this before. Almost immediately A waitress came and set them to a booth on the far side. Next to a window, facing the streets. Handing them their menus and left them to let them decide what they wanted to eat.

"This place looks so interesting. This is the first time I had ever been to a place like this. What do you think that have to eat here?" he wrote down and showed it to him. Sitting across from Alex.

DragonSky October 7th, 10 06:33 PM

Alex said a small thank you as Razi opened the door for him and maybe there even was a small blush noticable. No one'd ever held a door open for him.. Well, atleast not here in New York. People didn't bother most of the time, which could get rather annoying from time to time.

The blond could help but smile a bit amused as the darker male was looking around like he'd never been in a place like this.. Well, it was possible, right? He shifted a bit in his seat as he sat down. It felt so weird to be in a place like this, just because it had been so long ago. "I'm not sure." Alex shrugged. "Why don't we look through the menu? I'm sure we'll fine something." He offer with a small smile.

He'd been smiling rather often tonight, hadn't he?.. Maybe it had something to do with Razi? He wondered.

Kaido October 7th, 10 06:48 PM

Razi smiled and looked like he was laughing to. There was a little shade of purple on his cheeks. A sign that he was blushing. He was having the most wonderful time in his life. From his home world, he was an outsider, here he was mostly ignored. Yet he was the first ever to talk to him and not walk away because he doesn't have a voice. It made things hard. There were many times in his life that he wanted to say something. Especially last year. If he had a voice it might of stop- well enough of that. He didn't want to look sad around him. He didn't want to ruin his good time. So he looks at the menu. But as soon as he did, he was puzzled.

He looked all the food that have to offered, but he was not understanding them. Onion rings, hat that something you were? Buffalo wings, buffalo flew in this world? baby back ribs...Razi turned pale after that one. He looked at his new friend and Wrote something in his note pad. Gently poking the menu he was reading, he showed him his note. "You guys don't actually eat babies do you?" he asked with a scared look on his face.

DragonSky October 7th, 10 06:57 PM

He curiously watched the other male as he tried reading the menu before turning to his own to see what sounded or looked edible, since some things around here were rather weird, well, to him.

He looked up, blinking as Razi wrote another note. "Eh." He chuckled lightly and shook his head. "No, of course we don't. Maybe you read it wrong?" Alex asked, taking the other's menu to see what he'd seen there to make him think that. "Well, I'll assure you. We don't eat babies. That would just be-ugh." He shuddered at the thought, who would want to eat a baby? They were so innocent and cute and... Alright, not time for this.

Kaido October 7th, 10 07:03 PM

Razi let out a quiet breath as a sign of relief. He looked like that to. The color on his face were shortly returning. "I'm glad." he wrote on his note pad. Soon the waitress came back and asked of what they would like to drink and what they would like to eat. That's when Razi started to write again and this time showed the waitress what he wrote. "You should rethink some of the names you serve. Someone might get confuse?" she said. Looking at him like there was something wrong with him. So she ignored him for now and asked Alex if had decided on something to eat and what would he like to drink.

DragonSky October 7th, 10 07:08 PM

Alex grinned, shaking his head. "Good." He said, returning to the menu. "Well, first off, I'd like it if you didn't ignore him. He has a point." He said to the waitress. "And no, I haven't decided yet and I probably won't if you don't take him serious." He stated a bit annoyed she just ignored Razi. Just because he couldn't speak didn't mean he didn't have feelings like any other person..

Kaido October 7th, 10 07:40 PM

His face was turning a dark shade of purple when Alex said about something about him being ignored. On one has ever done that for him. He always tries to forget the feeling of sorrow when people ignored him. There were times where he got mad and tried to yell, but nothing ever came out. He always wanted a voice, but never did. So for once someone was telling them that he didn't like it. He had never felt this happy before. The Waitress said she was sorry and asked Razi what he wanted. He pointed at what he wanted to eat and asked only of water. He was smiling and the waitress wrote down his order and then Alex's.

Once she was gone. Tears were rolling down Razi's face. He was smiling, but tears were leaking out. He was so happy. He lipped out. "I'm sorry. I didn't to react to this. But no one has ever done that. To tell the truth I envy everyone because they could speak. While I can't really talk. People seem to think since they can't hear me, I don't count." he said but his mouth continued to flapped. But it seem to be from a different language. But he kept on smiling. "I'm so grateful that I had the chance to met such a kind hearted person. The gods are looking down at an abomination such as myself. Thank you."

DragonSky October 7th, 10 07:47 PM

Alex felt rather happy as he got the waitress to ask Razi what he wanted again. Since, well, he knew it wasn't fun to be ignored like that and not being able to voice it must be even worse.. From his stand point.

He blinked tilting his head to the side as the other started to speak.. Well, only without sound, which was rather confusing for him since he couldn't really get what he was trying to say. And it didn't really seem like he was speaking English.. "Heh, I'm sorry, but could you write that down? I'm not too great at lipreading." He asked, rubbing the back of his head with a slight embarrassed blush.

Kaido October 7th, 10 07:52 PM

Razi nodded his head. And wrote it down. Then showed him the note. Wiping the remaining tears away. His eyes were now a little red, but was okay. But he was blushing because he was thinking of what he lipped out might be a little embarrassing. But it was how he truly felt with him.

DragonSky October 7th, 10 07:58 PM

Alex smiled lightly, his blush deepening slightly. "Ah, i-it's alright. I can tell it must be horrible to live like that with people just running past you. But well, I still think it's unfair, they shouldn't be ignoring you just because they can't hear you. They should try to find a way to hear you, not just ignore you." He stated with a slight frown.

Kaido October 7th, 10 08:03 PM

He felt warm growing bigger within him. As he listen to his words. For where he was from. It was actual cure to born quiet, but he wouldn't tell him that. For one thing, he might not believe him. They just met after all. He didn't want to freak him out so much. So he wrote again in his pad. "I wish the people where I am from were like you."

DragonSky October 7th, 10 08:08 PM

Alex smiled lightly. "I'm sure there must be someone? Not everyone can be that bad?" He asked, a bit confused since he was sure there were always atleast a few people that had good intentions.. Or well, maybe that was just him..

Kaido October 7th, 10 08:20 PM

Razi just only smiled to his comment. For there was no one in his home world that go near him. That's when the waitress came back with their order and drink. The dark elf ordered a salad and just water. It was all he wanted to eat. He slightly lowered his head as to say thank you to the waitress who brought him his order. she simply smiled and set down Alex's order and drink in front of him. Once she had left. He once again wrote in his pad. "I hope I'm not poking my nose into personal matters, but who was that guy earlier. The one who wrapped his arm around you?" he asked. Talking about his drunk friend.

DragonSky October 7th, 10 08:32 PM

Alex muttered a small thank you at the waitress as she brought their orders. He blinked as he was asked who the guy was that had slung his arm over his shoulder earlier. "Just a friend of mine. He tends to be a bit clingy when he's drunk." He said with a small smile and sipped his drink. "Wy do you ask?" He asked a bit curious.

Kaido October 7th, 10 08:38 PM

He looked a bit nervous and quickly shook both of his hands. Quickly writing in his notepad. "Don't get me wrong! I am not trying to be weird or trying to stick my nose into other people's lives. I was just curious. That's all." he wrote with messy hand writing.

DragonSky October 7th, 10 08:42 PM

Alex raised a brow, a bit amused as the other suddenly seemed nervous. "Don't worry about it, just curious." He said with a friednly smile, hopign the other would get there was no need to be nervous.

Kaido October 7th, 10 08:49 PM

If he could, right now he be chuckling nervously. For he kept quiet for now. Taking small bites of his salad. With a few sips of water. He looked outside the window. Watching all the people walk down. Some by themselves. Others were in a group and then there were the couples. Holding hand to hand. He smiled. Thinking about his home. How he would watch his people from his bedroom window. It was the same, but different. There were times where he wished he could go back, but knew that would never happen. Even if he did. Something inside of him told him that he would deeply miss Alex if he did leave. But he knew that was going to happen sooner or later. The blond male would soon go home and properly go to work or college. Razi made little money by playing music on the streets. But as he thought of this. He was staring at Alex with a baby tomato sticking out of his mouth.

DragonSky October 8th, 10 05:13 AM

When he felt a little stared at, Alex looked up from his food and blushed as the other was seemingly thinking about something. "Hey, uhm, maybe you should eat that before you drop it?" The blond offered, somewhat trying to had the fact that he was getting a bit nervous.. He didn't like it when people were watching him while he was eating.

He just glanced back down at his food.. Which seemed to get a bit fuzzy in front of his eyes. "Oh damn.." He breathed and started searching his pocket to see if he didn't accidently bring his glasses along. "Ahah!" He chirped as he'd found them somewhere in his jacket. It was a thin frame and could probably be easily broken, but he didn't have the money yet to buy a steadier one.. Even if his friends were offering to help him pay.

Kaido October 8th, 10 05:25 AM

At first, he was confuse as to what he was talking about. Until he felt something smooth on the tip of his tongue. That made him blush as well and quickly chew it and swallowed. Going back to the window and watched. Then he heard Alex make a noise and got curious. Watching him pull out glasses from his pocket. When he put them on. He looked a lot better with them or so he thought. Making him blush and quickly looked away. For he didn't want to make him uncomfortable.

DragonSky October 8th, 10 03:03 PM

"Much better." Alex sighed with a soft smile as he could see the things clearly again. He didn't always have to wear his glasses. Just when he was tired or things did get fuzzy like before. He blinked as the other seemed to be blushing purple.. But maybe he had some rare skin decease. He decided not to bother with it 'cause it might be a sore spot for Razi. "Hey, did you already find a decent place to stay since you've gotten here?" He asked suddenly.
