Adverts
 

Yesterday I introduced the use of adverts on this website. The same adverts have been in use on our sister site http://animeotk.com for the past year with little to no problems.

Firstly I will explain why they are necessary. To run Yaoi Ai, Anime OTK and all the sister sites is currently costing me about $250 a month. This is a figure I can no longer afford from my own wallet. The adverts on AnimeOTK bring in roughly $75-$100 a month, this leaves a $150 shortfall which up until now I have been mostly paying from my own pocket. To date I have spent close to $10,000 of my own money to keep these sites alive. Due to the worlds economy and the weakening british pound I can seriously no longer afford this. That is where the adverts come in. I am hoping that adverts here will bring in up to $50 a month (based on traffic) and that I will not need to add more obtrusive adverts in the future.

Who sees them?
Guests, Unregistered users and users who are not logged in, users awaiting email confirmation and probationary users will see these adverts. A "Probationary User" is a user who has either been registered less than a week or has only 1 or 2 posts. The adverts will display randomly on one out of every five page loads. The simplest way to avoid seeing them is to make a few posts and wait a week after you register http://diaperedanime.com/forum/images/smilies/wink.gif Please note that spam and junk posts will be removed and the users post count will be adjusted accordingly. In the future there is a chance I will increase this post limit to perhaps 10 or more posts but users will not be downgraded if I do.



The bottom line:
Do not complain about the adverts, they will not be removed. If you do not want to participate and do not want to see them you will be required to donate. For more information on donating please feel free to private message me. Since only non-participating members will see them and it's not hard to make a couple of posts I'm afraid I have little sympathy with those likely to complain.

Uh, the message calls the site "DiaperedAnime". You might want to fix that.

Wait, by posts do you mean you have to upload a picture, or posting comments on pictures, posting on forums, etc.?

The Adverts aren't too bad, they're just virus-laden.

You have to pay for the site some how....I wont complain :D

Download firefox, and then add the No Script addon.
