Tutor troubles. (For Dark Majin-shin.)
It was still rather early when Jack crawled from his bed and quietly pulled some clothes on, giving his face a quick soak to shake the drowsiness off.
Grabbing a stack of books and a scarf to ward the cold off, he took a final look around the dormitory before leaving. The rest of his fellow students lay motionless in their bunks, sounds asleep and content from a long night out he'd politely excused himself from. Unlike them he took his education seriously, and unlike them he'd landed a heap of extra work because of it. Jack slammed the rusty old front gate as he left, on second thoughts he didn't mind waking the bastards. His task was quite a simple one, given to him only yesterday by a head teacher who treated him like something of a pet. A student who was apparently having difficulties with the Chemistry module of Jack's course had requested extra help, a private tutor as it where. As such was not within the school budget, Jack, a star pupil, provided an excellent alternative. He didn't know much about the other student, in fact no one he asked seem to have even met him. All he'd been given was a list of the topics that needed covered, and the address of the boy's apartment. From this he had derived some small facts. For one, the student was an outsider, thus the need to bring him up to speed on topics not covered at his previous University. In addition, he must have been well off, only the richest students could afford the private apartments, spacious and secluded paradises just outside the school grounds. 'Great...' he thought bitterly, a rich kid from out of town that would no doubt look down on him and question his every suggestion. Well, the arrangement was entirely professional, and would benefit Jack in regards to his final marks and respect amongst the staff. They didn't have to 'like' it. Finally passing out of the school grounds he came to the huge buildings that lay within a nest of trees and hills that almost entirely concealed them from the outside world. |
Eager to escape the cold he hurried inside, clambering up the daunting steps trying to shake the icy feeling in his limbs.
Christ. Why'd this guy have to live right at the bloody top!? Trying to remember what he had planned to cover today, Jack discovered that nervousness had clouded his memory, and before he recovered the door was right in front of him. Sighing hopelessly he shuffled the books under his arm and knocked the door sharply, waiting for any unwelcome sign of life. |
(Let me see if I follow this correctly. ^^; )
==== Jonathan growled under his breath for a while, once he heard a knock on the door. He was still a mess to see, his hair extremely messier than usual, and some of his shirt shoved in his pants. "Coming," he said loudly to the door, running around senselessly, looking for a hairbrush, whilst not trying to wake up the other scholars. He eventually found the brush and combed it through the strands of hair that were wildly spread across his face. He kept grumbling under his breath, the comb practically shredding through the knots in his hair. "Dammit," he swore, finishing the last area of his hair, and pulling the shirt out of his shorts. He ran for the door, nearly tripping and falling, but luckily his hand landed on the door knob before he could fall. He caught his balance, and stood there, for a just a second. The person at the door was surely his tutor. After a talk with his Chemistry professor, he had been given a tutor to help him through the course. Jonathan had heard that his tutor was apparently very intelligent, and somehow, he found that quite amusing. "Probably not smart enough for me," he mumbled under his breath with a sly smile, then opened the door, the smile wiping off his face quickly, before it could be seen. |
Jack stared at the creature before him with a blank look that masked his surprise.
He hadn't exactly expected much of his 'pupil', but now that he was faced with him he had to conclude that he was actually rather...cute? After a brief pause he managed to stumble a few anxious words out of his mouth. "Uhm... Hi. I'm your...er... tutor? Jack? I'm sure mister Mason mentioned me..." Hesitating a little before beginning his next sentence, Jack slowly pointed at the boys head, to which a hairbrush seemed to be attached. "You've got a... thing... right there..." Was this really a University student? He shrugged his shoulders before squeezing past Jonathan and surveying the room silently. |
He stared at the other boy for a while, a small hint of annoyance in his eyes, as Jack eyed him. He didn't acknowledge the other boy's look in any way, at the moment, he was too focused on how nervous and slightly pathetic he sounded as he spoke. Though usually he didn't have such harsh and rude thoughts, this time, he just couldn't help it. Jack seemed so.. Weird. Maybe it was just because he sounded so anxious.
"Hullo, there. I'm Jonathan. Glad to see you're my tutor," he said softly. His eyes then shot up, but of course he couldn't see the hairbrush. Instead, he could feel how it was still there, the teeth of it stuck in a knot in his hair. Damn, didn't I remove the brush? Uhg, now I look like an idiot he thought, giving an awkward smile. "Aha, thanks." He watched as the other boy observed the dead room. Jonathan looked and cocked his eyebrow again at Jack. "No one here," he said. |
Jack couldn't help but stare as Jonathan removed the hair brush. He hadn't seen hair that was quite so healthy in a while. It wasn't just blonde, it was golden.
Trying to ignore the growing urge to reach out and stroke the other boys hair, Jack looked around for a distraction. Trying to find a place to start working he cleared his throat and asked in a low voice: "You uh... got a table around here?" Yes. He was going to be business like about this. Get the job done and then leave with courtesy. He dropped his bag on the floor and sat down on a nearby sofa, folding his legs and shooting his pupil what he hoped was an impatient look. He didn't want Jonathan to detect any nervousness from him, as the tutor he was obliged to remain firmly in control, and so he would. |
Jonathan swore he felt eyes on him, but being him, he was a bit paranoid sometimes, so he didn't actually pay attention to the feeling. Probably just his mind playing those games with him, yet again.
"A table? Over there," he said, ignoring Jack's impatient look. Hell, if he wanted to play like that, of course he'd fire back with the same attitude soon enough. He pointed to Jack's left and wandered off quickly to find his text books. Damn... Where did I leave them?, he growled mentally, before eventually finding them under his bed. Finally.. |
Jack nodded politely and got up to follow Jonathan's direction.
Glad to be able to turn his back on the source of his anxiety he scanned about for longer than was necessary. Seeing that the table was filled with empty bottles, sweet wrappers and dinner plates, Jack made a disgruntled noise and began to clear things away with a familiar efficiency. He had almost finished clearing one corner when he came upon a set of somewhat risque magazines, and when he noticed what he was holding he dropped them like so many poisonous spiders. Trying to cover up both the noise and the rising blush he felt in his cheeks he quickly flung a book open on the table and tried to look busy. "So I don't have actually have any set order for this, so I suppose we could just do it alphabetically and begin with atomic theory?" |
Running back with the book he had been searching for, Jonathan nodded swiftly. "Yeah, I guess that'd be okay, unless you have a different method of doing this with me." He figured that he wasn't as bright as he thought he was, seeing that the thought of the atomic theory already made his head ache.
He noticed the blush on the other boy's face, and cocked his eyebrow at him once more. This guy is strange.. "Uhmm.. You okay?" he asked, something at the back of the head gnawing at him, giving him an outlandish notion that it had to do with something he was reading last night. He ignored that idea and waited for an answer. |
Jack shook his head profusely and tried to carry on.
"Ah... It's nothing. Nothing important. Shouldn't we get on with this?" Looking out the window and hoping to stall long enough for his embarrassment to fade, Jack began to stare out the window as if he had found something terribly interesting. He wasn't in the best position now. Not only did he find the other student to be terribly attractive, but now that he had a better idea of his preferences, it was hard to banish images of him sprawled in similar positions to the figures in the magazine. He took a deep breath and tried to calm himself, but it was very little use, and his boxers had suddenly gotten tighter. Seeking an escape he jumped up suddenly and motioned towards the kitchen. "Right. I'll go fire some tea on and you can look through the notes, yeah?" He hurriedly made his way out of sight and was thankful for the few moments he needed to catch his breath. |
