Roman clutched onto the boys hand tightly, but didn't aim to crush his hand. He looked down at the ground a small frown forming. "My mother. It started with her. She was a human and my father fell in love with her. They met during the Renaissance Period. Their love was forbidden, taboo, and many vampire took offense to relations between a vampire and a human, but that didn't stop them. The still loved each other very much, so much that they engaged and married. Because of that, many vampires shunned and we were exiled from our own clan. Shortly after, I was born. I'm the eldest of ten others. When the Six heard of this, they feared we would spread or 'sickness' to the world. They hunted us, held us against at wills. They-they did things to us." Roman clenched his free fist and gnashed his teeth. "My mother, she saved us. All of us. She sacrificed herself so that we could live, but at a price. Because of my parents sin and corruption, my mother was murdered, sacrificed in a ritual that cursed my family with this blood magic." The elevator came to a stop on the top floor, a long hallways ahead of them. They walked out and Roman continued to talk about his past.

"Her death ultimately led us to are demise. Because of this 'curse', our lives as vampires is different. Immortality is a possibility, but at a price. We have no real say in the council, but my father holds a seat amongst the Six. He is well respected, but many still hate him for the things he has brought onto all vampires and onto his family. But I suppose not all is lost. Are clan can adopt other kindred who either take our side in the dispute or wish to inhabit the dark curse. It's a foolish request if you ask me, but some do come to us for more power." Roman and Hanoa reached a door at the end of the hall and Roman unlocked the door, opening it. In front of the two was a breathtaking scene. A beautiful apartment, painted in the most vibrant of red, whites, and blacks. The modern decorum and furnishings made the room quaint and homey. And that was only the living room. His apartment was a two story complex, with more rooms on the top floor.
