Brandon watched as the boy shuffled off the floor and over to the bed, asking if he was ok. "No." He took another puff of the smoke and exhaled it before responding. "I had this weird nightmare. I saw everything. Before this all happened, after my father killed my mom, after I killed..." He didn't know how to say it without wanting to break down. The tears did well up in his eyes, but her refused to go and sob like a child, especially in front of Miles. "It's like, I know this is my new home. You guys are my new family, but I see you with your dad, Billy with his mom. Jade still has her parents luckily, and what do I have? My father killed my own mother and almost killed me if I didn't stop him." He looked at the cigarette and burned it out on the floor. He flopped back down on the bed and sighed heavily.
"Everytime I close my eyes, I...I see it. All the blood on me, my face, my clothes. I see my mom, lying on the floor dead in a pool of her own...blood. I should be lucky that I'm alive, but sometimes I wish that I had just killed myself that day. Would have made everything so much more easier for me. I have to live with the fact that I killed my own father." It was a guilt that followed him wherever he went.
