Cal scrunched his nose up when he heard that Alan had pets, he wasn't partial to sharing a handler, the main reason he stopped letting Don touch him. He figured that he'd have to be ok with it though for now since the pets weren't actually living with the man. Could they really still be considered his pets then still? In his mind not really. Reaching out he took Alan's hand and moved to settle down in the man's lap. At least he'd give this a try, he didn't exactly want to die after all and he knew that was exactly what would happen if he couldn't earn his keep anymore.
"Just so you know, I don't like you." he commented as he settled down and got himself comfortable. "But I don't want to die or be in pain anymore. So this is just the better of the three options. It will also buy me time if this doesn't work well enough for Don to get someone else... maybe someone taller." Like height actually mattered, he just didn't want to admit that Alan looked like he could actually be very good for him.
