Within a few minutes, Jonas was back at the school. He hid around the corner from the parking lot, peeking out every so often to make sure the mystery man wasn't following him still. There was just too much he didn't know about the man that he had to take every precaution possible. Who knows what the man wanted with him? There was no way he could let anyone like him find out about his secret. He was tired of moving. He thought for sure this small town would be his safe haven, but clearly it was not. The raven-haired teen peeked around the corner again, only to see Quin and Casey in the parking lot. He checked his watch. He could have sworn he said he to meet after school, but here they were. Whatever, I guess the faster he talked to them, the better off he would be.
Jonas emerged from around the corner and approached the two teens near the black car. "Hello again." The pale teen said as he approached them. Gone was the mischievous smile from his face. In its place was a worried look. Jonas caught a reflection of himself in the car's side view mirrors, and it disturbed him how odd he looked when he was worried. "I'm going to make this short. I need to stay at your place tonight." Jonas told Quin. His voice had no tint of playfulness in it. It was deadly serious. "I can't explain why, but I can't stay at my house tonight. I need to stay at a place where no one could find me." He told him. There was no way the man would know he befriended the teens, and wouldn't be able to track him down there.
"It will only be for tonight until I figure out what to do. If you say no, that's fine." He said.
