Kris sighed, seeing the look on Nakari's face. "Come on, let's sit down," he said, taking the bags and ushering the other over to the chairs gently. He sat down, letting Nakari sit where he liked. He took the other's hand in his, rubbing it gently. "The truth is... I don't know. It could die because it just can't make it. Or this place might decide to euthanize it because while it'll be alive, it'll just be miserable. Or it could make it, and maybe just need something for its back legs." His last option sounded a little brighter, trying to be positive. "Or the dog might be just fine. We won't know until they can tell us."
