Edward's mind was occupied as he drove his way to his friend's house, his fingers dancing on the steering wheel out of nervousness and his hands clenched every now and then. He was nervous. He'd gotten a call last night from one of Lucas' family members that he had gotten locked up and spent the night in jail for disorderly conduct. He was anxious because Lucas had never been locked up before, and he wondered what exactly happened. He was also angry. Angry at Lucas, angry at himself for not saying anything about Lucas' drinking problem for so long because it never got Lucas into any trouble. He was really the only one Lucas trusted and the only one that kept an eye on Lucas to make sure he didn't get into serious trouble. As he pulled up to the small, one-story house, he thought of what to say to Lucas. Edward could never tell Lucas he was angry. He could never yell at him, never scream, never tell him how he really feels. As crazy as Lucas made him, Edward couldn't deny that he felt responsible, and he had a crush on his friend since high school, which drove him even more mad.

He looked in his rear view mirror, adjusted his hair, then he put the car in park and turned it off before getting out to make his way to the front door where he gently pressed on the door bell.
