An hour had passed and Josh had got the point across to his aunt. It had taken a lot of time, and a lot of explaining, as well as some attempts at bringing his mother into the conversation, and eventually it began to work. Josh took a deep breath, speaking a little more as it came to a close.
"It'll be hard to process, but…I think you'll like him. He's a really nice guy. I was hoping I'd go home in two days instead of five, so I can go with you." Josh said, hoping that he'd end up being able to head out with her. Not only because he wanted to leave this place, but he wanted to see Akira again.
A few more seconds pass and Christine finally speaks. "That would be a good idea. You can introduce me."
It was clear as she spoke, she was a little hesitant, and somewhat confused still, but in comparison to before, she seemed to be lightening up to the situation. "You can come with me Wednesday."
Josh's heart lifted, trying his best not to smile although it showed in his eyes. "Thank you." he said, bowing his head and standing up. "I'll inform the others…I really appreciate it."
Giving his aunt a hug, something he hadn't done in years, Josh hurried to his bedroom first, grabbing his phone and smiling as he began to text Akira like crazy, telling him the good news that he was coming home in two days, and that his aunt knew about them, and seemed to be accepting it.
