Kris could tell the other was panicked, and reached around, comforting him silently. "But enough about me," he hurried, before either could ask any questions. "What brings you two here?"
His father snorted dismissively. "I see you've forgotten. It's our anniversary in a few days. We decided here would be wonderful to through the party."
Kris's mother laid a hand on her husband's lap. "There weather will simply be terrible anywhere else. But, while we were discussing it, I had an idea." Kris tried not to groan. That wasn't good. "What better way to celebrate years of a successful marriage than to try and find you a fiance! Oh, it'll be like one of those fairy tails," she gushed.
