Yaoi is a form of gay anime/manga that involves only sex. (And by sex I mean everything DETAILED)

Shounen Ai or also known as BL is a manga/anime term for Boy's love, meaning that it shows romantic relationships between two males without having sex. (And if it does then they don't show it explicitly)

If you want to suggest trying out any new animes that contain yaoi or shounen ai, you should try stuff like maybe Gravitation, Loveless, Junjou Romantica, or Sensitive Pornograph.
