That's it. Zeke snapped, pressing the boy's head down with his hand forcefully enough. He leaned down next to his ear, his men looking away. They more or less thought the same thing: don't interrupt. Zeke's voice turned into a low, harsh growl.
"Because the purpose of being the damn watcher is to make sure they are safe! Women and children safe, outside on the streets where the resistance fights, blinded? They won't care for these people! And I goddamn want to save them, including you, so just tell be where the HELL this passage leads so that we won't have to gather the stinking corpses of women and children YOU tried to save but ended up killing."
