Couldn't this boy see that they were trying to help them?! Even though they were from opposing factions, could he not understand that it was a basic human trait to help and overcome their need for survival?
He was going to rebutt, when suddenly, the ground shook.
"地震?!" (Earthquake?!) his men cried as they did what they were taught to under protocol. The first thing that Zeke worried about was the boy. He didn't have armour on, and would be the first to be crushed by anything that fell. He could hear the metal tearing and stones falling as he dived to cover the boy, the small body being encapsulated in Zeke's strong, hard shell.
"Don't you DARE move," Zeke yelled, commanding the boy to keep still. He didn't even know why he was saving such an idiotic person, but as he felt the rocks fall on him one at a time, he realised that the boy wouldn't be able to survive without Zeke protecting him, so he stayed on, using himself as a shield.
Hopefully that damn kid would realise that we're trying to help him and his citizens, not kill them, Zeke thought to himself, accompanied only by the rattling of rocks and the collapsing of the underground cavern. How they were going to get out would be anyone's guess.
