He shot a sideways glance at the Ikkeda, as the man's lecherous attitude did not subside, but Ikkeda's gaze was fixed upon the boy. There was a flash of something in Shizu, something he didn't recognize, and pushed aside as he focused on Aijou as he brought him the brandy. His fingers brushed the boys, and there was another flash of something, that tingled up and down his spine. He smiled, before taking the glass and sipping some of the liquid, warm on his tongue as it burned slightly mixed with that slight sweetness.
He enjoyed the taste for a moment, then turned to Ikkeda to discuss business, however was stopped by another knock at the door. A pretty blond girl, one of his wife's personal servants, if you could call them that since about all they did was sit around and fawn on the woman, or fetch her things. Or int his case, deliver messages. She dipped down low, offering the Lord a full view of her cleavage, before giving a winsome smile and fluttering her eyes up at him. His devil of a wife encouraged her girls to flirt with him, in an attempt to lure him into an interlude and use it against him. Shizu had seen right through that ruse, and the rare times he did indulge in a woman's flesh he was careful and discreet, his wife never knowing. However even such as of late was becoming unsatisfying, and it was frustrating him. He never lay with his wife since shortly after their marriage. The woman was so vain and shallow he found her manner too disgusting to share a bed with, even if she was extremely beautiful. The girl spoke soft and sweet.
"My lord, the Lady requires your input on a decision for the renovations of the garden, and she stressed that it could not wait."
Which mean it he didn't go it would be hell to hear later on. So with a heavy sign he looked to Ikkeda with a nod
"Excuse me, I'll be just a moment."
He might later scold himself for not dismissing aijou first, but he did not, simply following the youn maid out the door to go deal with his wife, leaving Ikkeda and aijou alone in the room.
