We-eell, I too am from the fetish scene (And the spanking sister-site) so for me the role comes hard-wired. I'm a top and in some ways, a bit of a Seme.
HOWEVER
There are limits to how much of a real life can be dominated by one partner. Since the OP post had no clear question I'll just ramble on in my silly manner.
Currently I'm with a girlfriend of over a year (Sorry girls to puncture your fantasies, at the moment I'm swinging hetro - perhaps think of it as dressing on the right rather than the left) and she's a sub in many ways. One of the small flaws in our relationship is she can take it toooo far. Its one thing to be a boss and Seme and controling, its another to dictate everything in a life... I have one mouth and two ears, I don't always do what my partner says but I do ask... and it gets very tiring to hear "I don't know" or "You decide" or "I'll do whatever you want to do" the whole time.
I get fed up of the sound of my own voice in a relationship or just doing what I think will be interesting all the time. The mentality to be a full seme and control and dominate someone outside of a BDSM dungeon and outside of a short or medium length Roleplay isn't often come across.
To sumerise, tl;dr, I'm a dom, a top and a bit of a Seme... but not to the north korean extent. It's exausting enough having to control your own body, let alone two.
