Alec simply couldn't believe his eyes. So many wonderful dishes to choose from, one could spend an entire day, trying to make up his mind what to have, but he knew time was of the essence, so he finally went for three yummy chilly cheese dogs, along with a refreshing Cesar salad. The lunch lady was more than happy serve him, and informed him he could have a second portion, if the first one wasn't filling enough, however Alec politely declined, figuring one portion would be more than enough to last him until lunch time.
He caught a glimpse of the menu list for lunch. They were having tomato soup with pasta, and crisp fried chicken wings, along with string beans and mashed potatoes. There was also vegetable soup and chicken with pasta. Of course, the list of lunch special for that day contained other tasty dishes.
Alec was greatly pleased with the diversified menu. It was perfect for all tastes, turning meal time into a pleasurable activity, one to look forward to. Then there were the deserts, steaming apple pie with cinnamon, the most delicious looking strawberry tarts, freshly made pudding, muffins and many many others.
He tried to take his mind off those tasty treats, as he made his way to a more isolated place of the cafeteria. It’s not like he had many people to avoid, as the place was pretty much empty at that early in the morning. The real crowd wouldn’t show up until lunch break, when the cafeteria would be packed full of hungry students.
