Naruto just became odder and odder in my eyes. Didn't like to work out? No one that didn't like to work out had a body like his. "Dude, I hardly doubt you don't like to work out. I mean, just look at yourself. You'd make friggin' pro wrestlers look like wimps with that body!" I say out loud, trying to boast about him a bit since he wasn't.
None of his responses make sense. It's like, he wants to respond the way I expect him to, but something makes him change his mind. Something had to have happen to him, something major. It's just like the examples in the sociology textbooks. People who act the same and like the same things form groups. But then if one of those people feel hurt or do something that's different from the group, they are excluded. Whatever it was, I wasn't going to prod any further.
I look back at Naruto, deciding not to provoke him any further. "Alright dude, suit yourself. But just in case you want to join, I'll be in there for about an hour." I snake my shoes back from underneath the bed and slip them on. I get up, uttering a simple statement before I leave, "You know, we're roommates. Sooner or later, we're going to have to do something together." I flash a wide grin on my face, the friendliest smile I had before exiting through the door and closing it behind me, knowing that Naruto would want some privacy.
