In a small New England Town, Halloween night was one of the biggest nights of the year for all the children - and everyone who lived within celebrated the holiday. Almost every home was decorated with terrifying props and lights.
Johnny was a teenager of seventeen who was ditched by his own friends on this cheerful day in town. His heart was broken by an ex who was now with his best friend, and wasn't invited to the only party everyone he knew were at. Not being the type to just barge in, he decided to go trick or treating with his little brother, Matt. Matt was dressed as a cat demon from his favorite video game, and Johnny was just a cat boy. He figured he didn't want to spend too much on his costume and just bought cat ears, a tail and a bowtie.
Not only did the brother's costumes match, but they also looked alike - mildly long black hair and tan skin. Everyone will be able to tell they were related. Matt brought his friends along, however, and Johnny was again left out. As they kept talking and running around, he didn't really feel like keeping up and decided to walk off by himself. They barely noticed.
"No big deal. I wonder what someone would say if they saw someone my age trick or treating...by themselves." He walked up to a home where someone had just recently moved in, which was styled with gothic architecture and decorated for Halloween quite nicely. He decided to just ring the bell and see what happens, and since it wasn't anyone he knew he wouldn't feel too embarrassed.
"Hopefully I'll snag a twix this time."
