It was times like this where I was glad I wasn't as anti-social as people initially made me out to be. It was nice to have that one best friend that could make you smile no matter what, that one best friend you could do anything with and always have a good time.

"TANK!!" Shikamaru shouts, and we're moving around crazily as we're rising to our feet and swaying the controllers from left to right, up and down.

"Oh my gooooood!" And the bastard thing got me. "I'm down! Run, Shikamaru! Leave me behind! Just - oh shit! That asshole killed me!"

Shikamaru's laughing, but he's still on edge. The AI's are trying to keep up with him, but they go down, too, and soon it was Shikamadu by himself. Avoiding Hunters, spitter patches, and running chargers, another Tank slams Shikamaru to the ground with a piece of flying concrete that seemed to automatically make a homing turn like a fucking curve-ball.

"What!?" Shikamaru exclaims as he jumps up from his seat, flails his arms in the air, and grunts. "That was nowhere near me! Damn you, you necklace monster!!"

I laugh at his comment. It's nothing but risible. I shake my head, and I grab my control so we can play again before I just pause. Shikamaru catches on, and he looks at me and shoot me a brow.

"Something up?"

"I think I'm gay," I say adamantly.

"Where's this coming from?"

Shikamaru didn't sound disgusted or repulsed with the news I had just delivered him. But that was to be expected from him. He was that kind of lazy layaboutwho never truely got into another's affair; his life was his own.

"I think... I like my roommate."

Shikamaru says nothing for a few seconds, but then, finally, after so long, he says, ever so casually I might add, "Pfft. Sucks for you!"

"Asshole," I laugh as I shake my head. "Let's just get this fucking game over with."

And we're playing again. There's no awkwardness; no uncomfortable silence. All is good between us, and I could have asked for nothing more.
