Unfortunately, after seeing so many action movies, destruction is one of those things where it has to be used correctly or I won't enjoy the movie. Out of disaster movies, I like Armageddon the best, followed by Volcano. Neither are very realistic, of course (I mean, drilling into an asteroid? Or a volcano popping out from under downtown LA? :/) but I still enjoy them.
It's nice to think about the 'what if's every now and then, and how you'd react in situations like those (whether they're possible or not).
