They have it easier than vampires who try grave-digging to get their next meal. Some vampires just can't handle watching their victims die or grow weak in front of them." Vincent replied.

Vincent chuckled softly. "As far as if there is anyone controlling the number of creations, there is a council. A council of very wise vampires from every different species, kind of elected leaders. They are the ones who approve the transformations of a human to a vampire, but if a transformation happens that they didn't approve, they get a little moody and will sometimes send one of their own to see why the human was transformed and if they have a sire to care for them. The sire will still have to be punished however they see fit...that's why I was nervous the first night you went out for a feeding. That, and other vampires can smell a newborn from a mile away."

"Depends...sometimes, they take that as an excuse...other times, they don't. A creation without a master is like an orphan, so the council makes it their responsibility to teach them, to give them a good standing before setting them on their way...or they would just assign you a sire, and that never turns out the way they hope." Vincent said as he finished with Rick's legs, then he came back up to pull Rick into a straight sitting position so he could wash Rick's back. "The thought of another vampire becoming your sire...being able to touch you, to hold you...it bothers me to the core."

Vincent released the arm he was washing to wash the other. "We have to wait until it's darker. In the winter, the sun isn't that much of a threat if we wear sun protection, but during the hotter months, the sun could be lethal no matter what we do. It's annoying, but it's the reason why I keep most of the windows covered with as much black as possible to block it out completely. It's harmful to me, and now you too."
