Heart in the mist [private for me and Amethystaura]

The next day was quiet and slow. He had done some cleaning and went for a short walk and then remembered he needed few things from the shop nearby. All the time he was thinking about what Gary said but nothing happened and thanks to that he was able to go for some clothes shopping and relax.

Gary spent Saturday waking up to find himself still asleep on the couch. Mumbling, he dragged himself to the bathroom for a shower & then ate some stale pizza for breakfast. Suddenly he got a text from his boss. Some employees were being asked to come in that evening, to finish a project that the client wanted before the deadline.

"There goes my Saturday," he sighed. "Hope they at least give us a half day off on Monday. Wonder if John's been called in too?"

When he felt his phone vibration he sighed. For few seconds he thought of ignoring it but he just couldn't. John sighed for a second time after reading the message. It was from the boss.
.. and of course he didn't listen when I suggested to do everything ealier... Thanks to that my Saturday is wasted... There is always the Sunday.. but it's still a pity.
Although he was hired as a computer security specialist he was now more like a programmer, as the one responsible for the job was fired and they didn't have enough money to hire another one and his job could take someone else. John didn't care really that much, he was very good in programming and he liked it as much as his previous job. And also being a programmer had this one, big advantage - he could have real vacations.
He went home to change clothes and after thirty minutes he entered the meeting room with his laptop. The project was one of 'easy-to-use security solutions' and they needed to finish it up.

Gary was munching a hotdog when he walked towards the conference room. He quickly swallowed the last piece, and pushed the door open to enter. he was just in time.

"'Sup?" He waved to the rest of them, with an amiable grin. He made eye contact with John, who looked very serious with his laptop and professional demeanour, and gave a two finger salute. He wasn't too happy about being called in on a Saturday, but for some reason, the sight of the young man he'd met last night made it seem better. Maybe he could take him for ice cream, to pay off last night's taxi fare.

Anyway, back to work now. Gary sighed, knowing that deadlines were always tricky. "Ok," he sat down next to John. "You think we'll be done by this evening?" He wondered if they'd be required to work together late into the night.

When he saw Gary entering the room he felt a little awkward. He gulped as the man sat beside him.
Why am I feeling stressed?
He stoped his thoughts when he heard the question.
"No. I don't think so. As far as I know the things aren't as they should be so.. I would say we would need all night to wrap things up.."
And as a time showed he was right about that.

John stretched on his chair. He didn't know it but he had done it in rather sensual way.
Finally.. Now I can go home..
He looked at Gary. Other man was talking with Jane so his face was turned in other way. He was rather sociable and handsome, that was all John knew about him.
Maybe I should get to know him better..? After all he helped me and didn't want anything in return..

The evening was drawing closer, and people were gradually dropping off and going home. As it is, it was a holiday, and there weren't many people around in the first place. Soon Gary and John were the only ones left. They were making good progress on the project, and were nearly done.

Gary was in the mood to tease the quiet young man next to him. "What if we're the only ones left here and the office is actually haunted?" he chuckled.

He looked at Gary with surprise then smiled lightly.
"The office is to new to have any ghost or ghosts", he said, looking around. "And besides.. it would be pretty interesting.."

"Aaaand that's the final touch." Gary hit the send button to send the project to their boss for approval. They were now completely alone in the office. He felt naughty, so he started making scary ghostly sounds.

John looked at him surprised and the smirked.
"You must try better if you want to scare me", he said, shaking his head.
He has nice eyes... I like their color.. And that goatee.. looks surprisingly good on his face. Also those broad shoulders.. I wonder how it would feel to be hold in them..
Realising that he was staring at the man with those indecent thoughts he blushed slightly and looked away.
"Ok.. I guess it's time to go home", he said, standing up.

Gary lay back, stretching out on the floor. "Ah, my stomach's growling and I'm too lazy to go home and cook. How 'bout we go grab something to eat, and then go home?"
