Heart in the mist [private for me and Amethystaura]

When they exchanged numbers he stood up and left some nice tip on the table. And put the book when he found it. After all maybe somebody would come back for it.
"And that means.. back to work. I'm almost bored...", he sighed as soon as they walked out.

Well, work was routine and tedious as always, for Gary. He however still enjoyed doing his job because he could help people in different ways.

After work, Agnes insisted that Gary join her for a movie dinner. He went home, showered and dressed, and then picked her up. They went for some comedy movie that Agnes felt would take the edge off her hectic lifestyle, and they ate tortellini, as Gary said he now quite loved the food.

Then he dropped her home and went home himself.

(Don't worry, it was just 2 friends going out, nothing like a date at all)

When work was over he sighed it relief. He hated slow days like that. After opening door to his apartment he was greeted by choir of meows and purring. That made him chuckle. After all there was someone in this world that would wait for him like that. It made him feel loved, even if just a bit.

The rest of the week was quite intersting so before he noticed it was Friday actually. In the week he actually met with Nick to go to arcade, though only for two hours but it always was kind of stress relief.

(my kitty does that. waits for me at the door when i get back from college.)

Friday morning dawned and Gary rolled out of bed, yawning and stretching before heading to the bathroom to finish off his business. After that, he went down and made himself a cup of tea, before smiling to himself about the thought of going drinking with John. He was getting really fond of that kid.

He texted him. "Hey, are you coming in for work at the office today? Or are you visiting clients? Or working from home? Just checking that you remember our plans this evening."

(I'm assuming they work for a multinational security firm)

(Yes. One of my cats do that too maybe hoping I would give him some snack ;P)

John was actually already at work when Gary texted him. There was some problem with key client and he needed to go ealier than usually.
"I'm working already. And of course I remember. I'm not the person to forget about something easily. Curse and a blessing. Where will we go?"
He pressed send and smiled. It made him feel actually quite happy. Both his friends were busy with work and what so ever and he felt a bit lonely.

Gary chewed on a piece of buttered toast as he ate, and texted back. "Early bird! Let's go to On The Rocks. It's one of my favourite bars and has a really clean atmosphere, plus a great beverage collection. I can meet you there straight or we can go together after work."

John smiled reading Gary's message.
"Yeah, right -.-' I would love to sleep longer but one of our main clients got her panties in knots =.= I would like to go from work for I don't know where it is."
Normally he wouldn't write like that to anyone beside Jane and Jake but with Gary.. it somehow felt right. Whats more this man made him feel more like his old self. It was.. nice to feel like that once again.

"Sounds good, I'll meet you after work."

Gary ran a comb through his hair, slipped on his shoes and then left for work. He went through the day calmly doing his job. He had a client meeting before ad after lunch, a planing committee meeting, a research to tabulate, and after that he was done. It was 6 in the evening.

Before three o'clock he was ready to go but knew Gary was still busy. He saw him when he went for the coffee.
"I'm going home. We will meet on the place, found it through Google already. Let me know when you would be done with work."
After he sent it he went home and ended up falling asleep on the couch with Sushi on his back.

"Be there at 6.30. Happy drinking!"

Gary sent back, in the afternoon. When it was 6.20, he got into his car and drove to On The Rocks.
